First off, I'd suggest not sitting next to a man. Better safe than sorry. Make sure you have anything you can use as a makeshift weapon at hand. Also, do not wear anything provocative, no matter how hot the weather is (although chances are, the trip might be too cold or windy).

hmmm.... When we travel we should learn some eye view on things such as the culture, weather and most especially taboos. Yes I agree don't be provocative. make sure you can defend yourself at least. :)

Hi Imgrandma, I think the way we walk sends an important message out as well. I travel with my friends or family part of the times. At other times, I prefer to do my own shopping or sightseeing, since we have different interests. I find that if I walk confidently, and do not look as if I am lost, nobody will bother me. If I look as if I am lost, then I attract the attention of many people.

Absolutely, behave confidently. Do all things with wit because this will make people think you are not that easy to be fool of. I love to go to other places alone especially if it brings god ambiance. Have a safe travel!!

I am a woman and in the past I have travelled alone several times. When I travelled alone I never stayed at one of the very cheap hotels, because they are often in bad neighbourhoods. If I could avoid it I never arrived in a new city very late a night, because I felt more safe when I arrived during the day. I didn't wear expensive clothes or jewelry and I put the map and camera away when I didn't use them, so that it became less obvious that I was a tourist. I always avoided desolate areas, and area unsafe areas especially at night.

Less luggage ,less money, not to wear gold ornaments, walk with the crowds, talk less, careful with the surroundings. Keep safe money. Do not expose worthy items. Not to expose what is in the luggage.Get help from the police authorities for your needs.

I would advice all single women to travel in the day time and alway try to avoid lonely places at best move in group of people especially women like you. Avoid engaging in road side conversation. thanks
