Hi! I am planning to become a member of SSS. I am wondering how much would be the monthly contribution for people whose memberships are under voluntary or self-employed. I fear that I might not be bale to have a chunk of my budget for that if it is THAT COSTLY.
Thanks!

From what I know, 200 pesos is the minimum monthly contribution for voluntary/self-employed members. But there are some income brackets that you can choose from if you wish. The higher the contribution, the bigger amount you can avail loans and also you'll get bigger amount of pension when you retire
...Hope this help. (This info was gathered last year ago when I inquired at a branch here in our place)

Oh, thanks whengcat! So I can either choose the minimum or the higher one? It really helped me. At least I have an idea. I am also planning to be a PAGIBIG member, so I really have to budget everything.

I have created a similar discussion on this but unfortunately i don't have the time to actually take care of this.though the place is not that far i just don't have the preparations too, but would have been better if some one can help me through it.

i wish i had an income to actually have it try to pay it back.

I think it's not that costly. It's better if you can go to their website and browse about it. They do have a website which is www.sss.gov.ph
You can very well afford it, i assure you.
