What do you think about Indian fury over Australia swimwear images of Laxmi ?

Pictures of the controversial swimwear were published in many newspapers, leading to protests in towns and cities across India.
Protesters belonging to radical Hindu groups such as the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Shiv Sena and Bajrang Dal took to the streets of Delhi on Monday, shouting slogans against the Australian government and swimwear designer Lisa Blue.
What are your view on this matter?

I am thinking that it was not very thoughtful and borders a huge amount of disrespect for their culture. I think that people do things sometimes without realizing the implications. Lisa Blue probably just thought it would be an awesome design. I bet she is rethinking that a bit now though.

In my opinion, it is blasphemous and outright disrespectful for someone to put someone else's god in the butt portion of a swimwear. Just imagine that someone placed a picture of your mother there, and you would be flaming angry. What more if you saw your god, whom you respect, adore and revere? All hell would break loose. The designer should be held accountable.

I think it is a shame when you worship a god or goddess that is so weak he or she cannot stand such a silly piece or exposure

I don't think it's in good taste to have a Hindu goddess on a swimsuit like that. I wouldn't wear it personally. The print looks pretty and the colors are nice and everything but the choice of it being on a swimsuit was not a very good one. I do think it's disrespectful to the religion. I'm Hindu (although I'm not very religious lol). I wouldn't take it as seriously as some people in India have taken it though.

wow, that is disrespectful..if the designer knew that that is someone else's God or in that matter someone they praised or their God then that designer should not have put that in a swimsuit..to be in someone else's butt! that is like putting the image of Christ or even the president's face in a swimsuit.
