Mylot..another version of FB?

Philippines

I just recently joined this site and I've been participating to members discussions ever since. I find this site mind stimulating and rewarding too. Fellow mylotters, do you think mylot is just another version of facebook? An avenue where we can vent our frustrations, share our triumphs and the like? What's your take in this matter?

Not even close. MyLot is nothing like Facebook.

Yes, I totally agree with you. The only similarity is that we get to know different people from around the world.

I think it's a little like facebook, but in many ways it's nothing at all like it. lol! Facebook allows things that mylot would never allow without being deleted. Very little is censored on facebook and you get to choose who reads your "wall". It's a more intimate atmosphere, as most of your "friends" are people that you know in real life as well as family.

Well, I personally think both sites are quite different. Honestly, if Facebook was paying at least half a penny for every post, I would be millionaire, as there am quite active and there are all my friends. Like on Facebook here we get to know different people from around the world, but here the emphasis primarily on the discussions.

I like MyLot because I get paid for my work, but it is very different from Facebook.

Me too! I've posted quite a number at FB: quotes and pictures alike. If we are financially compensated for our contributions, I would say I had made a huge income out of it!

Hi sophiecheer, I don't think MyLot is another FB. It is very different in fact. In facebook, people rarely discuss things like we do here on Mylot. Furthermore, the friends we have here in Mylot mostly are not friends that we personally know. Therefore, we have more sense of anonymous over here. and this is something I like very much about Mylot. It gives me much more assurance when I discuss some of my problems.

Yes, I too find that Mylot rules. Even thought there are many restrictions over here in MyLot, i find that it is a place where we are able to freely express our opinions. I also find myself on Mylot for many hours a day, responding to discussions until i am sick of them. To top it off, we earn for what we type!!

I agree, mylot tend to restrict us in divulging personal information and posting it here while in FB we get to post anything to our hearts content. Simply put, personal pictures are discouraged here. I am still on the process of orienting myself with the different facets of this site but so far, I am liking it here..too much so that find myself participating for hours everyday! The anonymity that mylot impose is also a contributing factor why people are confident to freely discussed what goes in their minds about certain topics that interest them. So without much saying so, mylot rules!

Both are social networks but they have different features, but definitely mylot is more worth time spending than fb..here you can earn, participate in discussions etc. In my case I had my fb account deactivated because it seems to waste most of my time. in myLot we can ventilate our feelings much better than what is in fb. and also here we can help others with their problems and concerns which again fb doesn't have.

Agree. Mylot is worth more than facebook. If only Facebook has the same feature like mylot I am very sure it can beat it.But it can't.

Hello there, Mylot is not like Facebook, because in mylot there are many better options. There you can talk with people with things what you like or for things for what you have worried. The best thing is that you can meet new people learn their cultures and other good things. I am here about a year now It's not mean that I am here everyday, but I can tell you only one there you also improve your writting skills and for all of you get some money for It too. I hope you are here for staying. Have a Nice day!

Hi Sophie! For me Mylot is better than Facebook. Here we can talk and discuss about thing rather than just talk about ourselves. Anyway they are both have the same mission that is to get people socialized. In my account of Facebook I just talk and discuss with my local friends while here in Mylot I can talk with my other friends who are not in Facebook and they are from different country and world wide. That is the different between facebook and mylot as I don't have international friends in Facebook.

Since I write in my Facebook using the local language there is no use to add international friends there as they will absolutely have no idea what I am writing about. I should make a new account of Facebook to communicate with the other friends.

I actually have international friends at my facebook account. Honestly, they became my friends because of certain applications that require a certain amount of "neighbors" before you get to have an award/ incentive.Tsk, that leads me to think..what the hell was I thinking that time? Probably because I was so addicted with the application. But anyway, I am so over that useless endeavor. I only logged in at FB nowadays to periodically check on my account and friends.

Yes, you could. But what will you get out of it? As I said, I only added them as friends because of the "games". Unlike here, we don't interact often in Fb..if we do, it is more like done in our native language. In here, we get to express our ideas and it allow us to really "think" about stuffs. FB is more like a close knitted community wherein people are really connected in person.

Mylot has some similarities with FB. At Mylot you can earn while you socialize with different people. FB is more into just socializing only. At FB though, i noticed that it seems people are bragging about what they have in life, like posting their photos of wherever they went, or whatever they have.

Mylot is not another version of FB,it has its own personality and I think it's truly unique, like FB,each of them being special in their own ways.It is definitely a place where we can express ourselves and reveal our personality to the entire world, like FB,and it's fascinating to share your thoughts to people from o many different cultures.Of course, you can do the same in Facebook,so I think there are some similarities between FB and Mylot, but for me the only thing in which FB beats Mylot is the number of members.

Yes, as of this point FB had a hell lot more followers compared to mylot. But in my own personal opinion, given an ample time, mylot will far exceed the number of members of FB. The incentives alone offered by mylot to its members are more than enough reason for people to get attracted. In these time of days, one can be easily persuaded with the notion that he can be financially compensated for participating in an activity. More so, he will readily participate if apart from earning money, he also get to enjoy doing it. :)

Hi Sophie, mylot indeed is a great social networking site and has such good incentives to offer. We all participate in daily discussions to share and gain so much. I am glad that i found MyLot! Facebook and myLot do have so much of similarities but the only difference (a major one) is MyLot pays us for surfing whereas facebook doesn't. Also, Facebook is giant at the moment. You can find all your friends and family on facebook. MyLot still has to grow. I am sure you have some good friends here at MyLot but almost all of them you've never met! Overall, MyLot is a fun site that enables us to participate in discussions and also earn extra bucks every month! Facebook is also a fun site but it has no any incentives to offer!

Yes I agree that the financial compensation does create a major difference among the two social networking sites. Naturally, FB had a lot more followers considering it's popularity and the length of it's existence. I am confident though, given a considerable amount of time, mylot would exceed FB's popularity. Without getting in the nerves of FB fanatics, I must say that it is just my own opinion of the matter. So for those FBiers, peace! (lol)

Yes there are similarities between these two sites. For example, both have different people from all countries, two social networks where you can share feelings and thoughts and pain problems. But there is a difference I would say that is huge. The difference is that Maylot pay for these things and not Facebook.Have a nice day!

Hi sophiecheer! Both are social network sites which aim to make people get closer and share their ideas. But unlike Facebook, myLot is giving more incentives and rewards to its patrons. I think this is the edge of myLot than Facebook. Albeit, I have difficulty persuading my friends to use myLot because they are accustomed in using Facebook. They are asking me several questions on how to use this site. Unfortunately, some complain that it was not user friendly and difficult to comprehend.

I agree, people are indeed apprehensive signing up to mylot because they are so used to using FB. For quite a few years, FB had given the whole global community an avenue wherein one can share their views and news about anything and everything about their lives to their fellows. Mylot is still new in the market. I have huge confidence that over the years or months (or days!), it's facets will improve, allowing skeptics and loyal FBiers to finally give it a try.

yes I agree that my lot is like Facebook but it differs in some reason. First we all know we earn in my lot while in Facebook the founders get rich while members waste most of their time. In my lot also I think discussions are more intellectual and actually helps members in issues in life.

hey i agree with you facebook is simply wasting our time and we have to avoid it and spend our time with the sites like these as they will be helpful for us in our life

Hey, that gets me to thinking...FB founders are really getting rich while their followers get to squander their time in a seemingly useless activity. No offense intended to hard core FBiers!

Hi. sophiecheer. I truly think and believe that myLot is a whole lot better than Facebook itself. We can share our feelings and opinions freely without feeling like what we may think or feel matters. On Facebook, I can't do this, everyone seems to just be competing to be better than others and that is not my kind of thing. MyLot is a wonderful place to discuss how we think and feel. Well, for me it is.

Yes, I agree that at FB we always seemed to be in competition with others. I could not agree more that at FB it promotes narcissism..its more about "me me me!", rather than others. In here, we can actually help other people by sharing our insights about anything. When someone starts a discussion about heartaches, we can actually give advices on how to cope because all of us get through heartaches at one point in our lives.

Hello sophiecheer, and welcome to mylot. I also have facebook and myspace, and I have a lot of friends there, I never hear from, since the day I aprove them, I find mylot a place more suitable for exchanging ideas and comentaries, and this is not only for money, although, I can deny, is an important matter for most. Search and get into the place, and, I am sure, you will find it as interesting as FB

well personally i cannot compare the two, though both are social sites but fb is just a site where you can post anything and everything... and though it is regulated it is not as regulated as mylot ( not in a bad way k) mylot has guidelines that we need to follow..and aside from the fact that in fb we do not earn there, here we do..it is pretty much pointless to compare the two. really.
• Philippines
13 May 11
Pretty well jazel. The two social networks are pretty much different when it comes to regulations and incentives. But for the sake of argument, FB was the first site to ever really connect people (from where ever side of the world)..well friendster made a nice shot but it was slammed down and hard by FB upon it's entry to the internet. So basically, it is not as pointless as you think. What I'm trying to achieve here to get a concensus about the user's opinion about mylot and FB as a social networking site.

I don't see it the same as facebook at all. Whlie we can respond to any discussion we have protection of not knowing a lot about who we are responding to. Even adding freinds to find their discussions to me is not the same as facebook. I think facebook, myspace and other sites such as that allow a lot of your information to get linked out to just anything. I feel much safer in the mylot community. While I have a facebook account, I have it on lockdown to only my special friends and family to view. At first on joining facebook I was doing the games but in order to play the games you had to have more and more friends and the only reason you had the friends was to play the games it became a vicious circle to me and I stopped playing them and closed off everything so I would not be getting so much stuff on the account. I love mylot. I like reading other peoples ideas and replies. It helps me open my heart more to people.

I agree about full disclosure of private details at FB while in here, it is restricted. The discussions that we participated here in mylot are the major reason why people love to interact. We get to share our views about certain topics and at the same time, we receive new input from other people.

Me too! Everyone has different views and thoughts and from here Mylot, we can see all this because it include everyone from different places. Sometimes friends in Facebook did not know what we feel as they don't encounter the same issue but here they are so many people who sometimes are in the same situation like us and they helped us on how to solve it.

I would not go as far to say that it is another version of facebook, actually I would say this is better. Even if we were not getting paid for this I really like the site for the great topics and voices that can be made. Much more different and useful than facebook.

When I signed up for this site, i did not foresee that it could be this exciting. You see, I've been researching for numerous sites that would offer on-line employment opportunities, and I've come upon this site. In actuality, the compensation is not substantial. I've seen and joined other sites that offer higher pay but I sticked here. So I totally agree, this is an awesome site because I get to enjoy. The pay is just an added bonus. Blessed day.

For me myLot is an avenue where i can express myself freely without the fear of being rejected. Here i can write whatever is in my mind, express frustrations, success, happiness or just whatever happened in my boring life. Add to that, is the oppurtunity to meet great individuals who shares the same passion as i do. So, for me, myLot is a lot greater than fb.

Thank you for your input BH! Mylot is indeed a very good outlet for all of your angst and cheers in life. And a great place to meet new friends from all parts of the world.
