Initiating A Discussion When We Don't Have Time To Respond Back...?!!

Hello Dear hardworkinggurl! That is what I meant to say! I appreciate your views and your consideration for our fellow members! Since we can initiate discussion here on Mylot on any topic, there is no dearth of initiating a discussion! But the ting is after initiating the discussion are we in a position to respond back the responses we are getting for our discussions or not! Since you are a person, which I have observed many a times, who respond / comment back every time, you really can't initiate many discussions as it becomes practically impossible to attend all the responses! Yes some times because or some or other reasons we may likely keep some discussions on hold for commenting, which I also do, especially the one which requires lot of thinking and composing the rsponse, this is quite understandable! Yes, we can rspond any discussion at any time or comment on any response at this lovely forum of Mylot as you said, it is always better late then never! But then personally I feel there is a different joy and enjoyment if we get instant or some quick responses / comments to our discussions / responses! Thanks for the response! Hello Dear jennyze! You are right,since we know that our friends are waiting for our reply in the form of comments ,how can we neglect them for a long time! So it is always better to avoid initiating a discussion if we think that we can't do justice to the discussion by responding back to the responders in the form of comments! I know you are particular about the commenting and you are on of the active member on this forum , so naturally for people like you it is next to impossible to do so! Thanks for the response!

Yes Dear jennyze! You are very true! Such things , in fact it defeats the very purpose of discussion or interaction amongst the members! They simply initiate a discussion and go to the next one without paying any interest to the earlier one! I too feel very bad and some times disappointed and frustrated, not to get any comment on our efforts! Thanks !

I just can't loose. I hate more people who only post discussion after discussion without bothering to comment back of the responses. And the discussion posted are mostly a cut and paste of some news on the internet...

Hi Dear mysdianait! Yes, I can see you have just initiated 469 discussions out of total 18950 postings! I also have just initiated 307 discussions so far for the reason quoted above! In spite of taking all precautions and not to displease any one many a responses sometimes get unattended and I really feel bad about it! Using net book can be little inconvenient one to respond back quickly! Yes, it is not proper thing just to initiate a discussion and then not to look at it! This really frustrates me which is seen more now a days by the new members! Here basically we come to exchange the views and to discuss about a topic! But because of indifferent attitude the purposes totally getting defeated! I agree, and support your views that one should not stsrt any discussion if he/she doesn't have sufficient time to rspond back to the responses one gets for the discussion! Inspite of all our attempts to fulfill this some times one fails because of various other reasons which I would be discussing in some of my next responses! Thanks for responding!

I enjoy being able to comment back immediately to those who respond and often this means that they will comment back again immediately causing chains of comments. Those can be a lot of fun!

Agreed dear mysdianait! For that purpose we need to have lot of time at our disposal! Piece meal won't serve the purpose then! Thanks !

Hello Dear indahfth! I sincerely appreciate your efforts in reciprocating the responses you are getting for getting solutions for your problems here on this site! Mylot members are generous, kind hearted, matured and have lot of understanding! They come to any one's help if they find that he/she is having any trouble! Though physically there may not be interaction but their soothing words and reassurances makes one really happy and helps one to get out of the gloomy mood! Since this forum is having many types of people from all walks of life , with all ages and professions there are every chances that we get solution to our problem on this site without a fail! Yes, I understand that I am not only the person who is unable to comment back to the responses on this forum1 there are many people like me ! but the thing is that in spite of this, I would like to comment back to as many responses as I can, as I think it is a minimum courtesy and ethical too! Here I am not talking about the perfection! It is just a feeling or desire of interacting with people! Yes like you I too have few responses which are yet to be commented and I will make sure now before initiating a new discussion I will try to comment back at least those responses which I got during this current year! Yes, it is never late in Mylot to comment on a response or to respond to a discussion, so it is always better late then never! Thanks for responding!

Yes,by simply commenting on the responses we are getting for the discussion we have initiated, we are appreciating the person's effort which he/she has taken in responding to our discussion! Apart from this I think this is a minimum courtesy and ethical thing we can do here on this site! Since Mylot is a discussion forum where participation counts a lot, commenting and responding a topic plays a major role! To have a discussion or dialogue both the persons should interact actively which I think can be done, if we start taking interest and initiate the discussion either in the form of a comment to a response or a response to a discussion! Hello Dear GemmaR! Most of the times we initiate any discussions just to know the opinion of others on the topic! But having known the opinion if we reciprocate the response by a comment then I feel that the person who has taken efforts in replying or responding our response may become happy! At least I myself feel very happy if some member is commenting back on my response! Yes, dear GemmaR I am happy to know that you are commenting on every response in many of your initiated discussions as I have seen in your profile! Yes, if you are responding or commenting back on the basis of e - mail then there are every chances that you may miss a few e - mails because of which some discussions / responses may be left unattended! Fr me I never depend upon my e - mails , I visit the site and check personally each and every response I am getting for my initiated discussion and I try to comment as soon as possible! In fact many of our friends get to know about the nature and behaviour of ours after interacting few times and they can understand if there is any delay in commenting them back but I think there can be misunderstanding amongst the new members if we fail to comment on their discussion! If we are not in a position to attend the computer for few weeks then it is always better not to start any discussion as this may create some misunderstanding amongst the friends you have in this forum! Yes getting the responses and commenting back on them gives an immense satisfaction and frankly speaking this is one f the reason why I am basically on this forum! In fact I stay on a Stud Farm which is away from Town ship! We need to travel about 50 kilometers to go to a Mall or to a movie! Since I am a resident Vet I can't think of going now and then to the Town to have some change! I need to tackle with my labour who are more or less illiterate on day today basis which leaves me much tired! So after day's hectic work when I come to this forum, i have a feeling of meeting my friends here and discussing with them by pouring my heart to them in the form of discussions and responses! This makes me feel fresh! Yes, I can understand that commenting back to every response may not be practicable many a times, but if attempted promptly then you would be doing justice to the thirsty souls like us who eagerly await for a response or comment!Thanks for responding dear friend! It is minimum courtesy that we should have in commenting back the responses! Yes, I agree that there is no point in just getting responses and leaving them just like that after reading them with out posting back the comments as it basically defeating the purpose of participation and discussion which is the main motto of this forum! This also leaves the members who are responding with so much of enthusiasm in it of frustration and disappointment and they may feel that they have simply wasted their time in responding to our discussion! In fact as I have cleared many times on this forum, I am here to have some nice, quality and relaxing time there by which I can forget my day's stress and tensions! I never think in terms of earning as this forum is not very good for earnings! So basically I want to interact with people and spend my time in some constructive way! Since I expect that my initiated discussions should be responded back by the members and similarly when I expect that my responses should get commented back, it is natural thing for others to expect the same thing from me! It would be too unethical and bad mannerism if I don't respond back to the friends or the members who are responding me for the lack of time! So I take care that I should have ample of time at my disposal before I initiate a discussion so that I would do justice to my fellow mylotters by attending them! This as said by you saves many of them from getting disappointment! Yes, jotting down the ideas when they strike is a good suggestion and I think I should start doing this thing so that I may not brush my brain when I have time to initiate a discussion. I think it also takes lot of imagination and efforts to respond to the discussions like initiating the one! yes here many a members feel that they don't have ideas to initiate a discussion and instead of initiating a discussion they are happy with responding to the discussions! I agree with your views regrading the responding back in the form of comments! If we don't rspond back then it would be really look rude and unethical and many a times members may end up with frustration and disappointment! they may develop a feeling of wasting their precious time which they have spent in responding to the discussion! Yes, we should definitely make them happy by appreciating their efforts for posting back a comment to them which i believe is their privilege and we should respect this aspect!
