Since I was little our family always had an extra bed for guests that might come to our doorsteps and it’s is called folding beds. These beds have nylon sheets in the middle held by springs on it sides that is attached to steel bars that folds in the middle to make sure storage is easy and it is very convenient just a little noisy cause of the springs but still is cozy. But lately sleeping mats and air filled sleeping beds had been developed and these historical sleeping paraphernalia had been absent in most homes that normally would have them. So like any other technology that had been wiped out be the latest and more efficient ones until when will these folding beds survive and will they be forgotten. Do you have a folding bed at home or you prefer to buy the new ones like the air filled beds or sleeping mats?

I've never slept on such beds. I've seen them in old movies where it's popular back in the 80s. I don't think those kind of beds are comfortable because of it being soft and light. I would rather sleep on the floor with a mattress. It's easy to keep and not to mention easy storage. One disadvantage is that mattress can be quite warm on a hot weather.

hello freymind, We don't have that folding bed anymore. I have two air beds at home just in case there were guests and rooms can't accommodate everyone. But maybe i will consider a folding bed too,i will check on that once i get the chance to look for some house needs. have a great day

My apartment is small so we don't have space for a folding bed but I'm sure if we had the space my mother would get one. We have a convertible couch that turns into a bed. My mom actually chooses to sleep on my baby mattress every night. We still have it. She says it's more comfortable than sleeping on our bed lol. I'm not a fan of air beds because they puncture. I don't think it would survive with my cat. The ones I've slept on before were comfortable though.

Besides it saves the storage space, it's easy to be carried anywhere. Many people in our country have this kind of cot in their homes, though they have the latest model beds. When they feel sultry inside their house, they just carry this cot to the roof or to the garden and rest. But, instead of nylon sheets, nylot tapes are used.

I actually have one in my living room right now. I use it for when we have company, or just when me and my girls want to have a special movie and popcorn night. I think that they are one of the best things I have ever been gifted, and we take very good care to make sure that it stays in good condition. I am sure that there are still folding beds out there. It is just a matter of looking in the right place.

Well we don't have one at home but my grandma has one. I actually prefer it than the mats because at least with the folding bed, I won't be on the floor level. It makes me feel safer from creeping crawlies. Most of all, I like the feel of nylon in my feet.

Meh! We have older versions of that but surely, i would like to buy new ones. i don't think they never get too old because they can be needed when there out of places to sleep . maybe i should buy sleeping mats as well.
