Yesterday was my cousin's birthday and the whole municipality celebrated it as he is the town's mayor. He didn't stay long enough though as he was feeling ill. A few hours later he drove his way to the airport as he had another party to attend to in the evening which was prepared by his wife in another city. However, instead of going to that party he landed in the hospital where he had a surgery due to appendicitis. He was still lucky though that it was only inflamed and it didn't erupt yet. His wife had to take the first flight this morning to come here and take care of him in the hospital. He will be discharged tomorrow and I visited him today. This makes me wonder how tricky life could be. One moment you are celebrating your birthday and who knows after a few seconds you might die on your own birth date. Now your birth certificate would have the same day as your death certificate. I don't want to entertain that thought as it's giving me goosebumps. Just glad that my cousin's case wasn't that serious. I just hope he would take care of his health better this time.

yes. That is life. Nothing is certain. There have been institutions which were having glorious days slowly started deteriorating. There have been civilizations which had excellent times but slowly got extinguished. Health is very important. Each one has to take care of it. Two days back I had breathing problem not due to phlegm but due to gastric problem. I had taken more of potato and also dhall curry. Only after my taking antacid I got relieved. That way your statement that nothing can be said about the next moment is right. Things happen as they are destined. It was decided that I should answer this discussion at this time and so am answering it now. wishing speedy recovery to your cousin

So I guess the old saying "Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow you may die" cannot ring more true, except sometimes tomorrow could mean today. Glad to know your cousin is well, but let's all take each day with thanksgiving and consideration for fellow human beings. We are but a speck in the eternity of time. As much as I can, I try not to be reminded of my birthday too. It's just another day.

Wow my heart goes to your family, sometimes life can be on full cycle at once, once you're at top and it can quickly can be rock bottom. I always believe that God always has plans for us and I believe every single events of our life is a learning experience to make us a better person. Hopefully your cousin can quickly recover his condition :)

That was a close call! Well, that is life. We don't really know what happens next, and so we have to be prepared everyday just in case whatever happens. It was a good thing that he got to the hospital immediately. It may seem not so serious because he got to the hospital immediately. Things would be different if his appendix burst without treatment.

We could never really predict what's going to happen the next few hours of our life. Life could be so swift at turning that we may not have the chance to have a glimpse of the turning point because it's all over for us. Fortunately for your cousin, he's still would be able to make amends in his life. And would still have a chance to enjoy precious times and moments with his family. It's already a warning though and a reminder that life could twist in just a few flicks of the clock's long hand... We'd better be ready. Cherish the moment and enjoy life. :) And life could be much enjoyable if it is shared with the one you cared for and loved so much... :)
