Never buy the first thing you see.

If I learned something from a young age, it is never to make a purchase of the absolute first thing you see in a store. There is always going to be a better deal somewhere. Plus that also cuts down on those impulse buys and gives us more time to think about if we really do need something. Its all about looking for things that are the best deal and often times, you're not going to make an informed judgment based on one thing.

Maybe you are right, sometimes you are wrong in some condition. We always think about that the first thing we seen is useless to us daily use.But sometimes,we had seen the first thing which we need indeed,it is ok and useful

I get what you are saying. I think that the first thing might be useful, but without anything to compare it to, it is rather useless and therefore, we need to really look around. There is no reason why we can't go back to the first thing, with the benefit of hindsight. There are just sometimes where there is something that we see first, that really is the best thing out there that we can find. There are many times where it is not. It really tends to vary. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

Being a smart shopper/ shop wise is always beneficial to whoever who practiced it. I for one had experience getting frustrated whenever I run out of finances because of my impulse buys. Currently, I had modified my spending habits by having a "list". That way I will not risk getting run out of money while shopping.

A list does tend to be more important now than ever before, doesn't it? Not that it was unimportant before. You got to pick your spots wisely. Of course, I tend to limit my trips as well, only to the necessary, perhaps going a bit beyond what I normally would do on an average week a couple of times a year and even then, it does take a bit to pry my fingers off of my wallet, as I try and find what deals I can. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I try to hold back the anticipation of buying the first thing that i see. if i rush into a puchase without thinking it through then I am often am only left with disapointment. the the purchase has lost so much of its luster. First impresssions can leave us with less than we hope for when we are not willing to wait.

That is really the thing, isn't it? Rushing in too soon and it will seem like a mistake, if something else better or a better deal comes along. There are far too many times where I think that people get a little too excited and see a thing that is all cool. Yet, there are going to be a lot of times where it is very enticing and obviously the stores know this. Believe me, they really do know this. Still got to try and abstain from purchasing the first thing. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

This actually came gradual for me. It was after spending way too much and learning of the same item cheaper elsewhere that I actually learned it was time to research first. No point in paying more for the same product when I can actually pay less and save some money. These days I usually research almost everything I spend on because quality and pricing are very important factors for me.

I'm just grateful that I learned this rather early on in life. There are a lot of people who really do not learn the fact that they have to not purchase the first item that they see right away for quite some time. Then there are a lot of people who really never learn that lesson, sad to say. It is one of those parts of life, people tend to get all excited about something and have to trip over themselves to buy it, not realizing that there is likely to be something better. Yet, it is rather smart to compare and contrast what you are purchasing. Look around, do some research, think, don't rush in. A wise person needs to consider each and every one of their options, before they make a foolish decision. The smartest thing is to consider several options, along with if this is a purchase that is really vital. That is the most key factor I think. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

it seemed like it's addressed to me I really try not to buy the things that catches my eye and so far I have changed a little, but still I just lose battles when it comes to bags and earrings..., but I never once regretted a purchase though!

Its good that you have not regretted any purchases. Myself on the other hand, there are a couple of times, where I feel like I have made a grievous mistake in what I have bought. Now granted, it is really a great experience and I will never make it again. And perhaps I can find some reason to use what I might have bought. Then again, with each passing year, I seem to get a bit more fickle about my purchases. The fist tends to close tightly around the wallet fairly often. To the point where I am almost certain that I outsmart myself. Maybe that is just me but it does really certainly seem like it. Still impulse buys when they happen, do seem to lead to trouble for some. Experiences may vary slightly. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

There needs to be really a lot of thought for sure when you buy something. Not to mention a lot of research. There are going to be a lot of variables for sure in trying to figure out what we need to purchase. It is not something that really should be taken lightly, for the sake of the wallet of the person. That much is something that should be obvious to all. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

HI megamatt: I definetly agree with you. I have made this mistake, specially when I was younger. Sometimes the first thing that comes to my mind when I want to buy something is that I just need to go quickly and buy it but that's not the best decision to take. We have to compare prices and also to think clear if we really need to buy this thing and what are the benefits of buying this tool or this label instead of another one. ALVARO

Its best to really shop smart many times when you go out there. The first buy makes a rather uninformed and staggered decision. Therefore, it is really difficult to be able to make the best decision in the world with not that much information. The first thing, yeah its something that could be a good choice, but you're not going to know if its a really good choice, until you actually go out and compare and contrast everything, think things through and everything. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I have to say you have the whole reason. As you I learned this at a very young age. I remember one day my mom came home with a short jeans she bought for me. I was so exited. When I tried it on it was too big for me, so my mom gave me the receipt ticket to change it for one short of my size. My mom was amazed when I show her that I got a very similar short and two blouses in exchange of just one short. I think that was what made me start to think just like like you. Always I need something, I look, I compare and then I buy.

Comparing is really the most important part about shopping. Granted, we should really have an idea of what we want, but there are times where the first choice we are presented with, is not actually the right choice. Therefore when presented with a choice, its something to consider, but not the only thing that we should consider. Its all about making intelligent decisions and that's something that can be a bit of a stretch for some people. Still the first choice is not the best. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

I think that is a good standard to follow. Everyone should be doing this. if you buy the first thing you see,the risk is that like magamatt is saying that you buy a bad product. You should look up the internet if the product is cheeper there before you buy in a store.

A very good point indeed, there is always going to be potential alternatives. Granted the first product could be the best, but really how are you supposed to know until you shop around? Go to numerous stores, Internet sites, ask people, do whatever you need to get the best information. Getting a bad product and having to pay for it, that is really something that is awful. So never go with the first thing, without shopping around. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.
