My mom fractured her kuckle

12 days ago my mom and I were all goofing off with my children and she spun around and hit her kuckle on the wall and fractured her pinky kuckle. I feel so bad for her because I wish I could take the pain away but I cant. What makes it even worse is that when I brought her to the ER they only took an X-ray of her wrist because it was swollen and it showed no signs of injury so sent us on our way. Yesterday we went to another doctor and they requested an x-ray of her pinky knuckle and in fact she did fracture it!! How can hospitals be so irresponsiable? We are supposed to trust them for our care but in turn they dont listen to us when we say where we are hurt! I couldnt believe that my mom had to go a total of 12 days without proper care. I just wish I could take the hurt from her.

The first doctor's behaviour was really shocking.He didn't pull his weight so that bungled the chance of treatment,brought more suffering to the patient.He is not competent.

Seems like a careless mistake, if after asking what part of her hand she hurt, though if she had said her whole hand would have made sense to x-ray the entire hand. My son once fell off a bike and had very swollen fingers. I took him to the ER and they only x-rayed the fingers. The swelling got bigger by the next day and since I worked with doctors I had one of them xray it again to find his metacarpal bone was actually fractured. It was one of the bones on the top of the hand between the fingers and wrist.
The doctors I worked for said they did not understand why the entire hand was not xray. My son then spent 8 weeks in a cast to re-align and heal.
I do hope you mother gets well soon because that is a very sensitive and painful area to have fractured.
