Making new clothes from old

It would be great if i can make new clothes from old ones myself. I can't even sew on drop button, let alone making new clothes from old ones. But, it really very good to have such a skill. I hope i will be able to do it someday.

my mom and i often do this!! hehehe especially when we have tons of clothes here at home that we dont use anymore, we try to "re-model" it. sometimes we make bags out if it and not just clothes. :)

THat's a great idea, its resourceful, expressive and creative. I think that you can find almost any accessories or buckles/buttons scarfs to dress up any old outfit into somethig new and head turning. I have played around alittle with adjustments, but preffer to cut my own lines, from patterns, my own diesigns stitch then make ay finer adjustments to suit the body. I am recent looking into childrens clothes but its difficult to find quality fabrics that can be repaired or revamped.

I don't buy new clothes too often. What i do is try to make some combination with my dress (blouse and skirts) to have a new look and fashion.

I have used old jeans and created bags and or old shirts and sheets to make pot holders. I never thought about creating other clothes, that sounds like a great creative idea. Hope you have fun while doing so.
