Through out the world women are very much vocal to protect their rights. But a different news came from Bangladesh. A newspapers report says, a lawyer of Bangladesh served a legal notice to the government for passing a law to protect men from the torture of women. In this regard within fifteen days if the government failed to take necessary action he(lawyer) will file writ petition to the High Court- he mentioned in his legal notice. My friends,do you think men are tortured by women?

i think a law needs to be like that every where just as it is with men beating women. my youngest son has a long term fiance, he lives with and has 2 kids with. she has given him black eyes and bruises many times because he was taught not to beat up women. also, she has the kids and threatens to take them.

Yes bunny, I agree law should be both for men and women. The law should provide same punishment for men and women. Because the offense is the same.

In the twenty first century context, there should be no dichotomy of men and women. Every body needs protection as in certain contexts men and women become victims of oppression. I think it is a right move by the Bangladeshi lawyer to give voice to the concerns of men requiring legal protection.

Yes sometimes men also need legal protection against oppression of women.

I'm sure it happens, but not as often as women are tortured by men. Just look at the customs of the various religions, and countries around the world. Look at who is portrayed as the "second class." Men still have the majority of rights in the world today. I say they can get their precious law passed when, as a collective group, they make the world easier for women.

Hi danishcanadian, I agree women are victim of discrimination either by religious law or social custom. Yes they are treated as 'second class' in many countries. But my discussion was different and interesting . A man asking for legal protection against the torture of woman is something new.
