Has anyone had to wash clothes in the bathtub?

So, I am currently without a washer but thankfully I have a dryer! I have to wash my clothes in the bathtub and this is by far a back breaking and tiresome task! Any suggestions from anyone that has been in this position before? Any easier way to do this? It's not possible financially for me to get a washer right now.

I do this because I just don't have the room for anything else. My flat is tiny! So, even a small wash is done in a bucket, placed in the bath! It's the end of the cold season, so now blankets have to be washed and put away for the summer. Lifting a wet double blanket out of the bath is impossible! I need some suggestions too!

It is a grueling task to say the least! I don't want my arm muscles to look like popeye or anything..haha! I couldn't imagine having to wash heavy blankets out of the tub..eek. I have actually considered draining the water out of the tub and getting in there and squishing the water out of the clothes, towels, etc. with my feet (clean feet of course), but I haven't tried this yet. I may though.

I do that all the time! Biological washing powders clean the feet nicely, leaving a pleasant fragrance!

We have a bathtub at home but we almost don't use it to have the bath as it will use a lot of water. Usually we will wash our quilts in the bathtub because the quilts are too big and heavy to put into the washing machine. But we won't wash the clothes in the bathtub because I just let the washing machine to do this job. I love China

Yes, showers are actually better and don't use as much water as a bath does. I only use enough water to cover the clothes in the tub. Oh yes quilts are too big to go in most washers and they can actually tear up the washing machine.

For the pass 24 years, i have been washing in a bath.Because we could not afford a washing machine. Now it has been 2 months since my husband bought a washing machine. Now their is no more pain in the back, and my risk dont hurt any more. Before i did have a washing machine i use to have a lot of back pain ,and i take a entire day to wash with my hands,Now i have a machine i even wash my mom clothes for her that she can get some rest too. IF you have a job you maybe take one out on higher purchase and take your time an pay for it.

Thankfully, I haven't had to do that. I haven't had to wash my clothes in the bathtub. I hope that I don't have to do that. Right now, my dryer is broken. So we have to hang our clothes after they are washed. But we at least have a washing machine. We're hoping to get that fixed really soon.

It is a pain to say the least..hehe. It is really hard to ring all of the water out. I would be happy to have just a washer and hang up the clothes. I hope ya get your dryer fixed soon too!
