My kitty always decides to play at five a.m. He claims the bathroom as his home because when we got him he was really sick. We nursed him back to health and kept him in the bathroom till he got better. He has several cat toys in there including a mouse, a ball, a cardboard scratch pad and a 9 lives scratch pad with a ball in the middle of it. His bed is in there on a shower chair- we put a rug and pillow on top of it and he sleeps there, but he decides to wake up and play at 5 a.m. He throws the mouse around then runs into our bedroom door which is just off the bathroom. Silly cat!

Yep, cats are like that. Mine starts romping and thumping from room to room anywhere from 3 to 5 am. I think she gets her nap out and gets bored. Figures I'll get up and give her some food if she makes enough commotion to wake me up. They can do some funny things sometimes.

Allie doesn't scratch at the door because I'm not allowed to have any doors closed in my apartment (by her) and I've had other cats that did the paws-under-the-door trick. Either that or a lot of yowling to "open the stupid door, you brick!" And they do sound rather like a horse galloping, don't they? cul-ump!! cul-ump!!...the length of the house. One night she climbed over me in the bed and stared at my face to see if my eyes were open. "Well, of course they are....you just clumped all over me!!!"

Yep ours will scratch at the door if he thinks I am not paying enough attention to him then he will put his paws under the door as if to say "Don't forget about me."

Oh he's so cute! My cat hates the bathroom, but very often when he comes home in the middle of the night the bathroom window is the only one open. So he goes into the bathroom and throws a tantrum, jumping on the door knob and meowing to let him in the house. He wakes up the entire house, and once we let him out of the bathroom, he runs straight in my grandfather's bed... all wet and muddy from outside. Sigh.

Nope, not silly to the cat. He knows exactly what he's doing and why. Just doesn't let you in on the plan.

Oh, yoyo1198, I am so sorry to disappoint you, but this is actually a stupid cat. I've been around cats all my life, I know they can be sneaky, creative, stubborn, curious, intelligent, and they have about one million ways to manipulate you. But the stray that lives in our house right now is simply stupid.

Your kitty has pent up energy that he needs to burn and that's why he's up so early in the morning. Cats sleep a few hours and then they're ready to go. A bathroom is too small of an area for them to be kept in unless of course, they're really sick and need to be confined. Can you let him out to run around your house/apartment? Cats can't tell time either and they don't realize that you're trying to sleep. If you let him run free, he'll be able to burn the energy he's built up.

We tried that and he knocked stuff off the counters and got into the fish, but he does go run around when we get up around 7 a.m. He just stays in the bathroom at night but that is where all his stuff is at because it is easier that way.

He is so cute! My kitty also choose to play very early in the mornings. My husband wake up at 5 am every morning to go to work. We close the bedroom door to sleep because if not she gets in the room and don't let us. But in the mornings my husband leaves and let the door open. I can feel her jumping and running everywhere. Sometimes she bring toys to the bed and you can see her playing as crazy. Or sometimes she start to bite and attack my feet! I have to take her out and close the door again to sleep a little bit more. She may be crazy but I love her so much

My cat use to sleep over my chest at night. His playtime is during the morning at around four am.I wonder why he would wake up that early just to play. The toys available for my cat is the knit ball and a scratch board. Can I include my dog as his toy? Oh well my cat is more likely to be the toy. I like seeing them fighting, the way my dog provoke my cat they're just so cute, my dog taunting and my cat looks very angry at him. i can't help but laugh. But that scenario didn't happen a lot, I don't know what's up with them two, sometimes they could go along all day without fighting, they could also go to sleep leaning on each other.

Cats are my favourite pets. My lovely she-cat usually sleeps during the day but at night she uses to walk from one room to another and meow. She does not break my peace, but my father has a light sleep and he often hears her being noisy at night.
