Hello Dear Siddhu!Welcome to Mylot! I can understand your dilemma about your career and the future! This is a common thing occurring at this age with many people! I too have passed through such dilemma when I was of your age! Now getting a job immediately after graduation may not be a tough thing for you as now a days many Corporate Companies are recruiting the freshers and after training them they are appointing them. Since the procedure also has been changed a lot the HR section will help you to get a job very conveniently. If you are interested in joining some job after the graduation it is better to submit your data to any employment Providers on net /HR people on net! After the graduation depending upon your aptitude you can have some good packages also in some private firms! But then here the risk is directly proportional to the salary, so you have o be very hard working and production oriented! You must give results to the firm for which you are working! Once you have proved your mettle then the sky is the limit for you, as far as the success is concerned! Having done your graduation in EEE Engineering which is a totally a technical field you can think of joining PG if you want to continue your career in technical side! Having done the PG while increasing the scope getting good jobs in your relevant field you are narrowing down your areas of work, as PG means specialising in one area! After completion of PG you can even think to join the academic line, which is having good scope now a days. But then you need to concentrate on getting job in some Government organization where you are having good package. The private Institutions ,especially the private engineering colleges are not paying much to the academic staff so it is better to keep away from them! Now coming to the IAS part. IAS is basically an Administrative Type Of Job! It requires different type of acumen and temperament! To have IAS job you need to pass out two sets of exams the preliminary and the Final written test !Having passed these two you will have to face an interview to get your final posting! The exams conducted for IAS are really tough and you should be really thorough in your subjects selected for the examination! You are thoroughly tested in the subjects. You need to know the current updates in all the subjects you are having as your choice in the exam! Apart from this I think you need to hare some available seats with other candidates who will avail the facility of having these seats under reserved quota , which leaves with a few seats for open candidates to compete for! The hard work, the mental make up of yours to take up the job after successful completion of IAS as this job involves lot of mental stress as the IAS people are directly answerable to some or other Politicians directly depending upon the post what they are getting, which makes their job quite tougher! This I can say because I have got few IAS Officers as my friends! Wish you all the best and I pray the almighty to bless you with his best wishes so that you will have a nice career!

Akrao thanks for ur valuable info. I know is IAS ia really tough, though in my view no other job can defeat it. An IAS officer is like a king to a district, he can change everything if we thinks heartfully, but nowadays we can find honest people hardly. Ofcourse he will be busy all the time in serving people, though serving people is like serving to god,how can he rest then? I know pressure from politicians for their work to be done, but if an IAS things that"i'm only here to serve people", thn no other politications can do nothing. All they have is power to transfer him, that's it. If an IAS officer things only about serving people then transferring to other place is nothing to him. He is a LEGEND( if he wants to be).

Agreed Dear Siddhu! You are perfectly right! But the times have changed and to day it is very tough, to be honest an sincere in Administrative services! I am not discouraging you, have you forgotten about the honest and sincere IAS Officer in Bihar, who was tortured by the local leaders there by assaulting his wife in front of him and he was subjected to lot of troubles later on! His mistake was he was an honest Officer!
