A Transformer burst out....!

Yesterday , A Transformer in my Area got burst out and it gave out fire , all of a sudden current in our Area gone . All the people started to fear that it will bring worse effect if it got blown completely . My friend called the fire Engine , but before they come the fire gone down ! Had anything happened like this in your locality ?

Yes,it happens in our area but fortunately there's no fire or worst thing happened after a transformer burst out because it automatically shuts off and the power current went off also,so the fire will not continue.
Usually this happens during summer here in our area due to higher electric consumption.
