Today we are celebrating the PHILIPPINE INDEPENDENCE DAY! Let's celebrate everyone! But i remember most of our beloved ones who are working overseas. Their sacrifices is worth the heroes who died for our FREEDOM/INDEPENDENCE. Yes,OFW'S tagged as "the new heroes" ...a consolation. Just wish they were given the honor our heroes received. No matter what...in our hearts...our beloved ones are the "best heroes" song that our overseas workers surely missed this is not a referral link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xpl28aqvPBU "ngayong ikaw ay nagbalik - now that you came back katulad ko rin ang iyong pananabik -i missed you as you do nakita ang dating kanlungan - seeing the old place (nature's lap) tahanan ng ating tula at pangarap -home of our poems and dreams ngayon ay naglaho na - but now...it's gone saan hahanapin pa - where to search for ? HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY PHILIPPINES...FILIPINO IS WORTH DYING FOR!

Hi didi... Happy independence day to you and all phillipinos. Here, in my place there is no meaning of this day as its a so called protesting holiday and no one come out to celebrate except politicians. I am really angry with my countrymen as why they dont pay homage to those heroes of our freedom movement. Why they are paying homage to some certain freedom fighters? why? a big question for me. have a great day.

hello friend, That's another kind of independence you are talking about. It's an independence from the hands of our own people (officials/the greedy ones) You are right..that is why i am honoring this INDEPENDENCE to our OFW's- to be shared with THEM..YOU,THEY- who also done lots of sacrifices to give their family freedom from poverty- by their own might and will. keep smiling my friend...there is no use to frown...you are a great hero for your family

Hi jaiho, Happy Independence Day! It was long before India came out of the clutches of the British the Philippines got its freedom/independence from the colonial rules of Spain. In the beginning it was 4th July Philippines observed its Independence but later it was 1898, since when you people are celebrating this date independence day on 12th July. Still following the Philippine Declaration of Independence on Jun 12. Long live the Philippines.

hello krajibg, Declaration of Independence on June 12, 1898 by General Emilio Aguinaldo and Filipino revolutionary forces from the Spanish colonization. The Philippines’ flag was raised and its national anthem was played for the first time in 1898. Filipino-American Friendship Day, July 4, is a day in the Philippines designated by President Diosdado Macapagal to commemorate the liberation of the country by joint Filipino and American forces from the Japanese occupation at the end of World War II. Thanks a lot for your greetings my friend! LONG LIVE PHILIPPINES

Hi, I went to church today, my mind was so busy and occupied that I should serve today, it's our teams turn to do the ministry. I was assigned in the doors, to welcome our members, and there it goes, I noticed, a lot of people were wearing Philippine Flag designed shirts, or just shirts with Philippine logos and I was wondering why, because we were just told to wear blue, for uniformity of those who will be serving, only to realize, it's INDEPENDENCE DAY TODAY! Well, today is also my independence day, from the bondage of sin and from the bondage of TAGS created by the people around me, and the norms of this society. TODAY I commemorate our country's independence and celebrate my freedom as well as a citizen and as an adopted SON of GOD in through JESUS. I am afraid though, I haven't greeted much a Happy Independence Day. So to at least to mylot Filipino members! Happy Independence Day! Cheers!

hello chuyins, I am also busy with church activities. Just now i am free and wants to share my share of thought about our INDEPENDENCE. Of course there is no greater FREEDOM being RE-LIGION to our dear GOD and saviour Jesus Christ. No question to that and no debate about this matter. but then again..my discussion is about our country, people's freedom from being a slave for a hundred years. Or else my topic should be in "religion" interest my friend. There is always a proper time and place for everything. 1 CORINTO 14:40 "Datapwat' gawin ninyong may karapatan at may kaayusan ang lahat ng mga bagay" 1 CORINTHIANS 14:40 "LET ALL THINGS BE DONE DECENTLY AND IN ORDER" Thanks for your response and have a good day always

Filipinos who are working abroad are really to be considered as a heroes specially in family. It's really hard to work in other nations with different culture however there are many Filipinos who were brave though there are man differences. Filipinos who work there sacrifice many important factor in their lives just to sustain the needs of the family and of course to help our country- the Philippines.

Even if it's just a consolation, it's somehow worth it considering that they are too many of them to honor like our traditional heroes were. Haha. But nevertheless, I must say they indeed deserve recognition for what's worth with their sacrifices. Their love for their families had remitted some benefits for the country as well.

A belated happy Independence day to you too fellow Pinay! Did you do anything special yesterday? As for myself...other than attend the mass and hear the Gospel, I wasn't able to really observe this year's Independence Day. I wish that we start having a special day for OFWs. Do we not? I'm not sure. But we definitely should, if only to honor their contributions to our nation.

filipinos are really worth dying for.being separated to your family and being alone in a foreign land is really a sacrifice thats why our OFWs are considered as our modern day hero.i hope the new administration will give hope to them.independence day were announced here 6 times.mabuhay Philippines and happy independence day!
