What is the most effective way to drive traffic in to my site?

Today I just created my new website using wordpress. And I already up my Interspire email marketing tool. And all I have to do next is to drive traffic to my site. Now I wonder in this modern age on internet and keyword wise content is not that effective anymore. Modern traffic generating techniques that is applicable nowadays is what I want to learn. I already bump to a lot of products about traffic generating programs but I don't trust it. Now I need your help... Please share...
