Me, I don't bother when my Dachshund licks me in the face. I'd be even happy my dog loves me. She always do that as soon as I enter the front door of our house after work. However my main concern is if it's safe to be licked by a dog or not? How about you?

I have a dachshund too!! She has the worst breath in the world, so I don't really want her licking my face too much. It doesn't bother me if she licks my hand or arm though.

Hi courtknee525, i understand we have different ways to respond to our pets. You know, I saw this so called denta stick made by Pedigree, this reduces tartar build up for dogs and it also reduces their bad breath. Its a stick that smells like a food so they enjoy munching and biting. We have it here in my Philippines small stores so i guess you also have it there in your pet shops.

My vet also gave Putchi some of that. I know it has a mint flavor which subsides bad breath. She doesn't like it much, she just plays with it. However, the fact that she's playing with her teeth makes it effective too.

Hi mabzki, I don't mind either if my dog licks me in the face. I just make sure that i will wash my face thoroughly after so the wont be germs and bacteria that is left. They do not express love the way human does, so they have different expression such as licking, giggling and barking. And we humans have to understand and learn the dog's behavior.

Sorry, my computer decided it didn't want to load the page and totally erased the post that I had written. Okay, long story short. Dogs clean their bodies with their tongues, personally I don't want that sort of thing all over my face. I don't mind them licking the back of my hand, but I still wash my hands thoroughly before handling any kind of food or drink. For sanitation reasons, its simply not a good idea to let a dog lick your face.

Sometimes, it does especially when I am not in the mood. There are times when I am tired from work and I do not want to play with him, I get kind of piss off. But some times if I like to play with him, then i let him lick on my face.
