Smiley Faces?

I have always loved seeing the smiley faces in the discussions here in mylot.
Makes your expressions much more fun.
I have tried to make them and they never turn out for me.
Can someone here that uses them please tell me hot to turn the little black characters we use to make the little yellow balls come to life in the discussions?
I know they used to be automatic in yahoo chat, but not sure how to do them here.

I like to use the smiley faces. Usually I use the ones pertaining to sleeping, as that is what I seem to respond to the most. The only problem I seem to have is when I pick one it always shows up at the start of the post. I know there is a way to put them where you want, but I haven't figured it out yet.

I noticed that too. so I just delete it and then once the window is open for the mylot code I can put my cursor anywhere and add the smiley. Hope that helps!
