How to Die In Oregon is a moving and gripping documentary about euthanasia in Oregon. This doc follows the lives of several persons, all who are terminally ill. And their choice to ask for assisted suicide. It is very touching and gripping. You follow most of these individuals right up until the time when they swallow the pills and die. I was struck by many things in this doc. Among those things was how much pain some of these individuals were in when they decided to take the pills. I have known many persons who have suffered from cancer and other terminal illnesses but have never been with them towards the end of their lives when they were in terrible pain. I have never seen how bad the pain can get. No matter what your beliefs are about euthanasia or assisted suicide, I recommend this documentary. It is on HBO On Demand but I am certain that you can get it other places like Netflix.

Thank you so much for bringing this movie to my attention. I used to volunteer with HIV/Aids when it was just being found out in the 90's. Having a medical background helped me adjust to what I was around and seeing. One thing is to watch it on TV to actually live it and see it and assist this illness was quite another. Again thank you for bringing this movie to my attention.
