How important are partnerships?

It has become a fad to talk of partnerships. The commentators say and so does the skipper. But partnerships do not come from the blue. Batsmen going into play should take the responsibility to build the partnership. Sans that who builds the partnerships. The defeat in the 4th ODI should go against the irresponsible batting of the batsmen, Tiwary, Badrinath, Raina, Yousuf Pathan and even Rohit Sharma. I hope my fellow mylotters agree with my assessment.

partnership is a key to win in cricket. the players of new era try to score fast and look on their personal scores and miss out the partnership. good partnership always win matches. players should try to build partnerships.

venkit, You are right to some extent. It is not the partnership that is the key for the win. Individual players effort and game that makes the partnership to develop. So it is the other way round. Partnership does not come freely when the players go in for batting. They have to strive. That is the crux of the problem in losing the game.

Partnerships are very important in cricket as it helps build the innings. Without partnerships the team will keep loosing wickets and will not be able to put up a good score on the board or may not be able to achieve the set target. Very often it has been said that cricket is not an individual game but a team game and with the contribution of the team members the team will be victorious. Partnerships can therefore be said to be the key factor in setting a target and this can be achieved by players with a good mindset and also focus on the game..

Hello keenan_savio. One cannot deny that team game is not individual game. But the team is made up of individual players. It is only when individual players contribute the partnerships develop. Developing a partnership does not depend on the team but on the individuals in the partnership. I therefore, try to put the blame on the individual players rather than the whole team or lack partnership.

I think India has won the series. Is it not? what is wrong is losing one two matches so that it will boost the spirits in WI team. have a nice day. True our team lost due to reckless batting.

India has won the series. But that should not induct complacency. It is all the more important to conclusively prove the supremacy. We have won the series but lost the chance to improve our ranking. We are playing against that country's side, not against a club or some secondary XI. I feel Raina and his team have to pull up their socks and win the last ODI creditably.
