Big noisy tractors - How to make noise: tractor!!

We have changed our hours a few weeks ago. We used to spend the whole night up and now its the opposite, we sleep at night and are up early in the morning I wish I could get used to it but I just cant. I start working at 2PM so I tend to stay in bed until 11AM. This morning, I was awaken at 6:30AM by very loud noises coming from outside. Our land is quite big at the back and way back, theres a garage and I couldnt see very well because we have so many trees, but I could make out some tractors over there. Seems they are doing some work. I got up, had a glass of water and went back to bed. Believe it or not, I went right back to sleep lol. So they were at it all day but it didnt really bother me as I have the a/c on.....its SO hot here today. Well at 3PM, the work all stopped but the equipment is still there, so I guess they'll start their work again tomorrow very early in the morning. Could you sleep while theres a lot of noise outside? Are you like me, able to sleep even if theres a parade going by in your bedroom? lol Or would the racket keep you awake and you'd need to get up?

With the windows shut and the a/c on, I do okay. Mostly, I do okay anyway, but have had issues with the neighbors once this year before I shut the windows. I am just more of a day person anyway.

They have a fire pit, but I question the wisdom of throwing gas on it. I think we may have been in a burn ban at that time.

Lucky you to be a day person. Yes the windows shut and the a/c on will do it. But even with the a/c on this morning, you could feel the tractors when they were hitting the pavement. But I was sound asleep! Thank you for sharing, sorry you had issues with neighbors!

Talk about not having a brain to be throwing gas on fire......they could have been injured also.

I am not a sound sleeper as even a buzzing fly would wake me. Sadly we have neighbors upstairs who feel that at 2am - 3am it is okay to stomp all over their floor and have loud music. Sad too because apparently the landlord does not mind as we have spoken to him numerously and since he does not live in the building I guess he sleeps fine. Glad you were able to get the rest as for me I would have been too wide awake, happens a lot here.

Oh Im so sorry to hear you have a stomper living upstairs. My husband is like you, if theres a noise, he's awake. When I live in an apartment, I used to live on the last floor. So I had nobody walking over my head. I never wear shoes when Im home, so I know I wasnt making noise for the people living downstairs. Thanks for sharing and I hope the people living upstairs will calm down.......maybe you could wake them up early in the morning with some classical music. Place the speakers very close to the ceiling in their bedroom haha!!

I can sleep through most noise, except when the dog barks or phone rings.

I forgot about the phone or the dog......Im like you, anything else outside the house will not prevent me from sleeping.......oh strike that.....even noise inside the house doesnt prevent me from sleeping LOL. The phone and the dog will wake me up but not on the first ring or bark . Good for you that you can sleep through it all. Thanks for sharing!

Im really sorry that you two have so much going on around where you live. Yes Im sure its frustrating to hear all the noise and not be able to sleep. Maybe if you get some ear plugs that would help you? Thanks for sharing and I sure hope you'll manage to find a way to sleep.

oh, my sleep situation's the same as yours. Every night when I want to sleep, there are many trucks and cars and cement tanks whistling back and forword for almost four hours until dawn. That really makes me mad!

I wouldn't be able to do that! It's like any tiny noise wakes me up. I used to have a lot of problems sleeping because even if I heard some random noise outside or in the hall, no matter how faint, I would wake right up and not be able to sleep. I've found that if I sleep with the tv on low volume, I don't have the problem as much. There are somethings on the tv that will wake me up almost suddenly (certain words, voices, and even when the colors change a lot). I've been taking melatonin in hopes of it knocking me out before any of that can factor in. I've been there having to change your sleep schedule from staying up all night, it's really hard and I hated it. I'm a total night owl.

My husband is like you and he tried melatonin but its not working for him. So you can understand what its like to be a night owl and have to wake up early. Thanks!
