Hello friends, I got up early today in the morning at around 5:00 Am and tried to sleep again but unlike other mornings i could not sleep again i don't know what was bothering me inside.I got up from the bed & went to kitchen & have a glass of cold water & thought now i will sleep again but not. Then i thought of going to morning walk along with my father as he daily use to go to morning walk.I went along with him nearby river & there i walked for around 15 minutes as cold breeze was blowing i felt refreshing there then i saw some old people doing some meditation & yoga in a park i joined them & did small exercises with them which relaxed my mind & body. After that i returned home as it was 6:30 Am already and the time to get ready for my office. On the way i thought i will go for morning walk daily which i have thought several times but could not managed as i am too lazy & rarely get up early in the morning. Please share your views how to get time out for morning walk & get up early as usually i go to sleep at 12:00 at night before this it is not possible for me to sleep as i have children which don't sleep early & play with me as they usually don't get time to play with me.

It doesn't have to be in the morning, dear. You can still do your walks in the evening after work. I used to do that, but only once a week as you know, busy mothers don't always have much time for themselves. Now I only do my walks on weekends when I'm off from work. That way, I can still relax when I come home and not have to rush off to work. Can't do it on weekdays as time is too short for me. After sending off kids to school, I only have like 1/2 hour to get ready for work.

Yes, I can only do that in the morning on weekends. If weekdays, it would have to be after working hours cause there's a park just nearby my work place.

yes you can do it any time but doing it in the morning is very beneficial because in the morning there is fresh air, your body is fresh and above you are empty stomach. You should try to do it in the morning i know its tough one for busy mothers but still see if you can do it.

Hi sjvg I tried a lot to start a change in my lifestyle and go to bed early but whatever I do, I never fall asleep before 2:00 am (unless I am on medications like the past few days when I am sleeping for over 18 hours) So waking up anywhere before 10:00 am is just not possible and that rules out the morning walks... somedays when I dont sleep et all, I do go out for a walk and that makes me feel better. A promise that I always do and break - I will sleep early tonight and get up early next mornig so that I can be back here same time

@GF: @sjvg: sleep early and wake up early... something that I have been trying to get into since my college days but never could get that fixed... The sleepy medicnes get over this week and I will be better once they are gone @praa-ji: Yhank Lord! no one mentioned it is still morning at 2:00(a.m.) and if I went out for a walk it could be termed as Morning Walk

Hi sids i think even you need to change your life style because you are like me.What medications are you taking are there any sleeping pills you have been prescribed because 18 hrs is really too long that means you just wake up for 6 hrs in a day. Anyways hope you get well soon & first start changing your life style to sleep early & wake up early morning & then think of morning walk.

Well if you sleep till 7 am, you can still go for walk till 8 and then get back get ready for office, but i think the most suitable time for morning walk is a from 4-6 am, before the sun gets all hot. so i guess 6-7am walk is perfect for you, since you can't go bed before 12 am.

No rock rock my office is not nearer to my house i usually leave for office at 8:00 am so get up at 7 walk till 8 is not possible for me. I also think 6~7 is the best time for morning walk provided you get up early which i am not able to because sleeping till late night.

Humm that's pretty interesting my friend well finding a time for morning is really challenging as you have to battle with your dearer sleep which is very hard to wake up in the morning. Humm now since you go to sleep by around 12:00 certainly i think you can manage to get up early but still if you find it difficult get up half an hour late and just for 15 minutes get good exercise like stretching arms and small exercises not necessary that you need to walk do it for some few days then after that make yourself to get up around 5 so that you can go for walking dont be lazy keep your mind focused and iam sure you can do it all the way, i think getting up at 5 is the solution because as at 6:30 you have to go to office, so all the best my friend take care.

Hi sjvg I only sleep an average of 6 hours at night. If I am having difficulty sleeping then I will sleep less. Generally though I do get my 6 hours, and as soon as I wake up, I have my morning coffee then exercise for 30 minutes. I find for me it is best to do so early as I rise and before my breakfast. I have done it this way for several years now and find that it is the best way for me to be wide awake for what lays ahead in the day. I am very consistent when it comes to my morning routine, so my suggestion is that you get into a consistent routine and this way it will not be a chore. Though I see with small children the routine can be a bit off. But if you dedicate a specific time for your walking and or exercises then it becomes habitual. Usually consistency can be achieved as the children get older.

I agree with the point"usually consistency can be achieved as the children get older".As both of my children are too small and need my attention more as they are twins & their Mom gets tired by them by 8:00PM daily and from 8:00 PM my time starts to see them. And they are such a naughty children when you force them to lye on bed to sleep & you lye nearby them to make them asleep then you will sleep in 15 minutes & they go down the bed & start playing again. This is real incident which has happened to me most of the time. But really HWG your routine is nice we should take lesson from your routine & think it will take another 2~3 years to get my routine like yours.

You are so right as I could not do all I do now when mine were really little, so it it a sacrifice, but years later you look back and say, so worth it.

Drink a glass of milk before bed time and make sure the room is quiet or you could listen to songs or radio before you go to sleep. Relax your body when lying in bed. Avoid thoughts to enter your mind. Relax your mind so you can sleep earlier. Set your alarm clock to 5 in the morning and set your mind that you must do a morning walk. Dont the lazyness enter your mind and body first. Be eager to do your morning tasks. Repeat this every now and then. I know its not that easy but you will see the changes and get used to it. Have a nice day. ^^

But i suppose to get up early at 5:00 you need to sleep at 9~10 to get full sleep of 8 hrs which presently i am not able to do because i go to sleep till 12 and to get up at 5 after sleeping at 12 will only invite BP & other problems.
