While i found another discussion about this is what not about what I wanted to learn and find out. So both me and my girlfriend are thinking to learn to dance ( we are not totally parallel but we don't know specific steps for dances - we adapt fairly fast). There are offers like from groupon and other disccount sites for 12 sessions. The question that i especially need answers for people out there who teach dancing or are good dancers (knowing steps and specific dancers): How many sessions do you need to learn to dance (not professional, but do well at weddings and parties) ? If you do know how to dance, how much time did it take for you ? As i know people are different, i am trying to find an average time limit.

Hello elitess. When I was in my twenties and early thirties, I used to learn how to dance in our school dancing club. It was a lot of fun and I was crazy about it. But ever since I moved to another working place, I have not tried to dance any more because of my busier life and work. Now this interest of mine has vanished. Yet I love to see others dancing, which is a lot of fun to me. Take care.

My nine year old daughter has been learning ballroom dancing since she was four years old and my husband and I decided to take lessons ourselves because she made it look so easy. Well that was our mistake…We did not find it as easy as it looked when we watched out little one whirling around the floor. I think it is harder when you are both learning and partnering each other because I learnt little with my husband but when I took some private lessons with a dance teacher I improved a lot. It does depend on the individual of course but everyone can learn if they apply themselves. It is great fun regardless and that I believe fun should be the priority.
