It's not overheating, if I see that in the answers I might go postal. I'm using an XFX 6870 GPU, and a 955 AMD x4. And I get these weird screen freezes, I've updated all of my drivers. So far it's only happened in WoW and Spiral Knights. (WoW was on low low settings.) I can run Left 4 Dead 2 & Total War: Shogun 2. On Ultra settings and not get these freezes. And during these games the GPU can go as high as 70C and not freeze. But during WoW and Spiral Knights they're 55C Max on WoW and near idle on Spiral knights. Any suggestions? help me

My first suggestion would be to try and narrow down what is causing it. I would suggest putting in a old graphics card and try try and run those programs. If they have the same issues its probably not your card but potentially some other hardware in your computer like the motherboard or Ram. Other things I would try are. 1. Take the card out and clean out the mother board. Sometimes some funky things can happen if there is a lot of dust or the card is not in properly. 2. Run a virus scanner. Windows comes with a security essentials tool that works wonders (think its for vista or higher). Also another amazing tool is Malware Bytes. Both of they are free. Spyware/viruses can cause issues with programs. Since you play Wow one thing to be cautious about if keyloggers that run when you launch the game. 3. Defrag your hard drive. Good to have this done regularly anyway. 4. Roll back your graphics drivers. Sometimes its the new drivers that have conflicts with some games and not others. Hope some of these tips help. If they don't, they are good to be doing anyway.

I had also the same problem. It can happen for following reasons other than over heating, 1.Bad sectors in HDD 2.Bad RAM 3.Overclocked CPU 4.Low Virtual Memory Just increase your Virtual memory.. It worked for me. and clean up your computer using CCleaner.. it also helps
