Sounds like Canada is wanting to make our paper money more durable by turning it to plastic. So we should see some brand new plastic money in March of 2012 or so. They say its not easy to copy, so no counterfeit money, but Im sure they'll find a way to make fake money lol. They say that if you happen to wash your jeans and forget money in your pocket, well have no fear, its washable which gives a whole new meaning to "laundering money" They say the plastic money will last 2.5 longer than paper. Some said that paper money lasts about a month, so Im wondering if the cost will be worth it. Some say that Canadian money looks like monopoly money. Its true and I like it. They say they'll be able to get even funkier with our money now that its going to be plastic. So now, not only can we feel rich having money but we'll also feel happy looking at it What do you think about plastic money? Do you think other countries will join in and do the same? http://thechronicleherald.ca/Front/9021197.html

What is amazing is that it has been in Australia since 1996, if I had read something about this it had slipped my mind. I is interesting that they are changing the on thing that there seems to be the most difficult to copy the paper (it is actually a paper/cotton blend in most countries). It will be interesting to see how easily people adapt and how quickly other countries will adopt the system. Great article, I am going to go and research some more, this is quite fascinating it will be the newest innovation since the creation of paper money.

only if they get rid of the twoonie and the loonie. then it will be a viable idea. other than that, i think our money is fine really.

Im afraid they wont rid us ofthe twoonie and loonie. They even think of using some new kind of alloy to make it more resistant.....yeah I know I hate those so much that whenever I have any, I put them in a jar.....well....I had a small fortune in there Try to put those away and see how fast it goes to have a nice amount of money saved! Thanks for sharing.....we'll see what the new plastic money looks like soon enough.

Sounds interesting! I wonder how it'll be if they get bent and folded, ya know? It does make sense how it would be harder for people to copy... Thanks for sharing that article, I'm passing it on to others too! Have a good day! :D

From what I could see on the news here, it seems to be easy to bend....looked like paper to me but they say its plastic. If you read up, someone from Australia says they already have plastic money. Thanks for replying!
