Why do some people never get acne?

I really get jealous of the people that don't have acne, and I don't know why! I've struggled with acne since I was in 7th grade. It was sort of ironic because as an ignorant child, I used to tease and taunt people who had acne. I used to call them mean names such as "pizza face" or other really mean things. I know I probably really hurt their feelings, and I honestly regret doing it. But now I feel like I've been hit with karma because I have super bad acne now. Luckily I don't have it on my chest or back, but it is all over my face. It's not "disgusting" or anything, but I'd say it's moderately severe. I really get jealous of people that don't get acne. There are some people out there who never get acne and have naturally clear skin! Why do they have this? I know they probably aren't religious about cleaning their face every night. Is it their biology or their genetics?

There are a number of reasons why certain people are more prone to acne. The top reason is most likely, and most unfortunately genetics. Others can include hormones, stress level, skin care routine, diet, and certain face products! Typically, no one has naturally perfect skin - it takes time and dedication in order to keep your skin healthy and smooth!

Ugh I know I hate that it's related to genetics. Some people are so lucky that they're destined to have clear skin. Well, maybe destined isn't the right word. While people that are more prone to acne have to go through buying all these products and taking appropriate measures to stop breakouts from occurring.

Yes dear it happens when we don’t understand got train us. I used to call bad for those people who used to wear spectacles and now I wear of high number. Whatever I got the result at the end. Now talk about your question. I had acne problem and I got fed up, but luckily I got rid of them. And now almost I have a clean face by god grace. In my view there is a need of cleanliness only and whenever you go out and come to your home you must wash your face with soap or facewash. And before going to bed again you must wash. One other important thing is that don’t rub towel on your face while drying your face ever. Use these tips only and you will see the result within 2 months I am sure. Goodluck !!!

Thanks so much! Those are very useful tips that I'll apply to my daily face regimen. I already wash my face both times: at morning and at night. I've heard that this is extremely crucial to achieve a healthy complexion. You're so lucky that you got rid of them! Hopefully I can get rid of mine soon!

I never had acne. I believe acne is in our genetics the same as some obese people cannot lose weight. My partner has execma and has a redish face all the time. Everyone has imperfections so I wouldn't read too much into it.

Well it's really lucky that you don't have acne! I honestly did think genetics played a role in it. I have eczema on my legs too, and it can be a pain sometimes, but luckily it's not on my face.

Hi Keeegan, I think it is good to have some acnes rather than to have an acne free face or skin. Our skin is one of the best cleansers in the body. Toxic can leave our body through many ways, including our skin in the form of acne or pimples. I think those who do not have acne either do not discharge toxic well, or they have very good genes, hormones, and good dieting habit. If they belong to the latter, then they would have nearly perfect body system.

I guess you're right, and that's actually a cool way to think of it! I never though of the skin as a cleanser that removes toxic things from your body. Well that just means my body is probably hurting then. I should probably treat my body better with healthier foods and right drinks.

I think its related to nature and nurture. For nature, yes you are right, it is something biological. It really relates to the skin types of people, people who have dry skin, like me, I never get acne when I was living in Europe. But during menstruation, there is very high chance for me to have acnes on my forehead, chest and back (when I am in Hong Kong). For nurture, it probably relates to your attitude towards skincare. People who always do exfoliation tends to have fewer acnes. And also climates is an important factor deciding whether you have acne or not. As I have metioned above, I never have acne when I was living in Europe. But in Hong Kong, I am always bothered by acnes problem. Probably the humid and hot weather trigger the acne problem and I cannot solve it even I am serious about skincare.

Hmmm...that's a very interesting way to think of it! It probably is a combination of both. I mean, it probably can't just be one and not the other. The two coupled probably lead to bad breakouts and an overall bad complexion. Yes, that's true. It could be something biological, and something that you can't control. I know a friend who would never get breakouts! And it could also be nurture. You could have the genetics and hormones for bad skin, but if you treat it right and prevent it, then you're probably off well and are probably going to have a healthy, good complexion!

people don't get acne because they care about their beauty and they always get products that can prevent their face get acne. besides that, may be their family got a beautiful face and they always never get acne. May be, people that don't have acne they care about their diet. They not eat something that oily and always eat fruits and vege.

Yeah that's true, there are some people that spend outrageous amounts of money to keep their face looking clean, clear, and smooth! I wish I could have that kind of face. And I really do think there's some sort of strong link between your diet and your complexion. There probably is now that I think about it! I haven't been eating the best foods lately, and this could be the reason for my sudden and painful breakouts. I'll try to eat fruits and veggies more often now!

I guess it does have to do with genes and such. Some people have acne, while others simply don't get it at all.

That's what really sucks. I wish I was the person that didn't get acne at all.

I know what you mean! As a schoolboy, we were told that acne is a common teenage experience. I didn't expect it to last all my life! It isn't bad but you can say it's persistent. Perhaps I have it because I'm still a teenager at heart!

I know exactly how you feel. I thought that it would magically disappear with age, but it just has followed me. I've literally tried everything, and I'm still trying to get it to finally leave. Hopefully it will be gone soon!

It's in your genes! It's also caused by your hormones. Try to clean your face every day to make it less likely to get pimples caused by bacteria. I know it sucks, I've have acne before too.

Hmmm...I had a feeling that it was something behind just your hormones! There are some people that just have great skin without even trying. One of my best friends has never had acne, and she rarely washes her face, while I am over here washing my face extensively every morning and night! Thanks!
