Pros: -Pets are fun to have around -Some are good company -They're cute -Studies have shown that petting a dog can lower your heart rate -A dog would be good security Cons: -If you live in an apartment you have to walk your dog all the time -Some dogs bark a lot -Birds can be loud -You have to clean a cat's litterbox -Vet bills -Some small animals are nocturnal and may keep you up at night while they hustle about their cage Personally, I love having pets. Without them, life would be really boring. They're just there to add a little something extra to your life and make it special

They say keeping a pet is really good for your health. A lot of nursing homes now are getting birds so the residents can interact with them. Sometimes a pet can have a calming effect on a person. There are pros and cons for the type of pet. It just depends on the person. To me a cat is easier to keep than a dog, but I like both. You have to walk a dog, but you can just have a litter box for a cat. Cats need to have a scratching post for their claws and if you get a puppy they will chew up anything they can. If you have a bird, a lot of the bird feed will end up on the floor around the cage. Doesn't matter what kind of pet you get, if you give them attention and take care of them properly you will have a friend for life.

If you like dogs/cats, make sure you remove their lice properly and maintain them to be flea/tick-free if you don't want scars from flea bites scatter around your skin. Dogs are good for warning us of strangers outside our houses nearing our property. Cats chase rats especially at night but give you job like cleaning the remains of the rat. Cats' poops are very smelly that it takes days before it's odor will be removed unlike trained dogs that poop outside.
