Belief in Astrology - Can Astrology foretell the future?

The Indian 'science' of foretelling the future - which has become popular as Vedic Astrology the world over, is called 'Jyotish Vidya' or the 'Science of Light'.
According to Astrologers , the basic difference between the work of an astrologer and that of a doctor or a lawyer is that an astrologer should only narrate what he sees in a horoscope." because everything is pre-destined...
I am sure that there are similar beliefs and sciences across the world , in different regions.

It goes good for me,, as long as u believe in it,,and I can say It is not difficult to understand,, my experience has been good,,,,,, though I read after the time has passed,, most of what the guys write about me and my life reading,,, is very good

Mine wasn't good, it was a rip off and I was a fool that parted with 20 bucks too.. could have been worse if I believed her.. she could remove the dark cloud for $100. A fool and his/her money soon parts.

Hi kawalnarang, most of us want to hear only good things about our life.The moment something negative is told most people get angry with the astrologer..
Hi Pointless, lol, I guess that is one way of making money. tell people about something bad that is going to happen and also offer a solution for a price

Hello Kiran!
I think that Vedic Astrology sometimes proves right in prediction and sometimes not. If anything goes in our favour as per the 'astrological predictions', we start believing it and if anything goes against us, we ignore this kind of art.

Hello Kiran, it is my experiance that no one can forecast exactly. Although astrology is much popular every where. Only foretelling of future is not enough. If one astrologer forecast according to your horoscope you became a doctor. If on the basis of this forecast some one will not concentrait on study than how this forecast will be true. Our stars play some role in our life but these are not every thing in life. Our deeds are also important.

Hi anil, I agree that one cannot predict anything accurately.There are so many factors influencing our life. It can be compared to a several stones being thrown into a pond and the ripples caused effect each other inspite of being away from each other .Similarly in life we have so many different experiences and overlapping experiences - one wonders how anyone can predict the future. If they are able to do, they must be nothing short of almighty god who is supposed to know everything

Hi Kiran,
I don't mean to offend, but I am speaking from my own experience here with astrologers. I'm not sure if you can call Astrology a real science. Science is something that can be tested and you can get the same results each time. I've been to astrologers and they do cold readings and are usually off base. I had one tell me (she charged me $20 too) that I had a black cloud following me and for $100 she could remove it. I walked out and felt like a fool for giving her my hard earned $20 bucks.
I kind of think of astrology as a sort of pseudo science, if anything.

Hi PQ,lol that is really the way they function I guess - predict something bad and charge you and then give you a solution to ward off the bad results and again charge you. But, in India there are some astrologers who are professionals practicing for generations.They predict only after taking many things into consideration and they take their profession seriously...But at the same time there are many touts who behave exactly in a similar manner as you have experienced..thanks a lot for your response and have a nice weekend

Hi narthan, I guess that is one way of looking at it.I too hear people say that certain predictions have come true in their life.There are times when we ourselves can foresee what may happen in our life by analysing a situation. Similarly it may not be difficult for an astrologer to predict certain things since they do probe and get many relevant facts about our life before making a prediction...

I agree with you But at the same time I wouldnt mind having a preview of my future lol...Honestly, I dont bother about any of these , take life as it comes . I have realised that , that is the best policy and it has worked for me so far...thanks a lot for your response and happy mylotting
