i don't think that there are any intersting topics left to discuss in mylot.as you know quality people will not respond to topics which are silly and not intersting.is there really scarcity of topics in mylot?

I don't think there's a scarcity of topics in myLot.
There might be thousands of subjects to discuss.
After all, it is important how you we put the problem, isn't it? I mean, you can start a topic that have been discussed previosly but, if you make it sound different, there will always be myLotters interested in discussing it.

You know, when you're in front of your computer, trying to be active in myLot, it's like you were in front of your TV set, with the remote control in your hand.
If you don't like a TV channel, you just push a button and you change the channel.
This is exactly what you can do here. If you don't like a discussion, just skip it and go to the next one.
There are dozens of discussions started every day and I'm sure you can find some to match your taste.

I don't think that there would be any scarcity of topics. Knowledge is infinite and everything's changing constantly and in a rapid pace. That is how technology and how man evolved, by continuous and spontaneous production of ideas and opinions. However, maybe the people out here are just being lazy enough not to think of original topics to discuss with. Another reason might be that the topics that spawn are not of great interest to you. Some of the topics made are limited only to a certain group of people who can relate to them.

Well, I guess you can try to broaden your scope of knowledge and be able to relate to newfound topics. Trying to look for the topics that only interests you limits the discussions you can respond to, thus exhausting the topics. However, if you try to expand on those unknown topics or topics which does not really interest you and try to know it, you'll find a new topic to indulge you with. The only problem would be trying to motivate yourself to be interested on the topics that doesn't interest you at first glance at all. Just post away and check out all the discussion tabs. I hope you might see something of interest for you there. The best bet would be the hot and top discussions, of course! Haha!

@agentgulaman: I would agree with you here. Limitng ourselves to topics that interest us will make things harder. Once we found ourselves in a situation where there is no other discussions we would like to respond to or we have no idea to start one, that is where the disaster strike. Recently I added some new interests (although I am not interested in them) to my interest list, and the results are overwhelming. I got a tonne of extra discussions compared to what I have previously.

There do seem to be less new discussions in my favorite topics at the moment. Therefore I am looking for more general discussions right now. I love to respond to discussions about my favorite topics. I find it hard to start a new discussion unless I have something I am interested in discussing. I look for similar topics to my favorites. I hope more discussions will come on to wonderful My Lot.

You might be right! This rule about not repeating topics is actually making life quite difficult after mylot has been around for so many years. I find it a challenge - we just have to be more imaginative to come up with good topics, and that will indeed make mylot even more interesting. OK, I admit that I am not a leader in this task, I don't start many discussion at all. Personally, I like the silly topics!

i bet mylot will never run out of topics to discuss.. i think silly topics depends from person to person. things that are quite interesting to discuss about could be the world's current events. that wouldn't sound silly right? sometimes people are just bored that's why they share nonsense.. nonetheless there's a lot of things to enjoy in life.. ^_^

we can even gain knowledge out of nonsense. we just have to open up our minds and see there's a lot of things that we can talk about under the sun. mylot offers a lot of topics to discuss, so why limit to nonsense if every bit of discussions makes sense to some individual?...

@hdhorda4: I don't think there are any. As long as the sun rise every morning, I believe the world has new stories to tell us and that should be our main source of topics. Instead of limiting ourselves to factual topics, why not taking some time to look around the web and share things that you found here. I am no expert on doing this, but I would like to do that myself if I get the chances.

@hdhorda: I believe in that, too. And I hope I can do what I recommend to you after this. It is not an easy task, but as they say where there is a will, there is a way.
