This days many are in to meditation. This had been practiced long time ago, I guess it started in India correct me if I'm wrong.People who have been doing this said they have acquired many benefits through meditation.Like conditioning their mind as you have said to make it sharp and relieves stress. They are also talking about energy but I don't understand it clearly what they mean. I do some researching before about meditation but I don't get much just by reading it.I guess the best way to know more about it is to attend a session with a guru leading us.

Yes, there is no restriction of who ever wants to practice meditation.I also give in some thought to practice it sometime but the problem with me is, I have difficulty in concentrating.I get easily distracted. Can you give me some pointers on how to focus if ever I do meditate.Have you tried it if you don't mind my asking.

you can focus on your breath while doing meditation.first find out some place which doesn't distracts you then sit in a chair or floor whichever you are comfartable.then your spine should be erect it should be not bended otherwise you will not get full benefits from it.after keeping your spine erect just start concentrating on your breath just see how it comes and goes.do this exercise for 10-15 minutes in the starting and then gradually you can do half an hour of meditation i hope this will help you.have a nice day

Yep! I've read somewhere about meditation. Breathing exercises and meditation helps improve our concentration and focus. Also it is a relaxing way to "de-stressify" the body. Maybe HDHORDA4 you can share some tips on how to meditate properly. I would like to try it because I am already stressed!

yes you can do it in early morning as you know in the morning our mind is fresh do it between 5am-6am and there are no counts needed for that just sit in a chair and your spine should be erect that's the key otherwise you will not get full benefit for that and just concentrate on your breath watch it how it comes and goes.do this for 10-15 minutes daily i m sure that this one is going to help you.

Should I do it standing or in an Indian sit position? Is there any counts to follow for the inhale-exhale process? Also, what time of the day would it be most suitable? I'm interested and excited in trying this out!

I certainly agree with you. I have been practising meditation for twenty years now, and it certainly is very good for mental as well as physical health. I sit down every evening for an hour after I get back home from work and practise meditation. It calms the mind and cleanse the mind of all sineful and malicious thoughts too.

Hiya HD, Meditation can help you a lot I think yes. Me I practice this about five minutes a Day sometimes and every time I find my mind wandering I just let it go back to where I more or less started. I want to feel comfortable with the idea so I donĀ“t get frustrated all the time if I find I have gone off track I just relax and go over it all again. Does take a long time to make it a fixed habit though. There are a few images I use sometimes too to help focus but not all the time it all depends as I have a lot of distraction around here. Keep going with yours though.

Hey, HDHORDA, I have to agree with you on this one. Meditation really helps releasing stress and be more focused. I don't think meditation is 'essential' but I do think it's good to meditate once in a while.
