Mapping of streets by google?

Google has already started mapping streets in India like in other countries where the project was started earlier and is in full swing now. A source in google claims that the images would be useful for tourists, town planners and even security forces. But unfortunately, google has already run into controversies in other countries where the project is already in operation and had to beg apology for unwanted intervention in private life. So do you support this new move of google in mapping streets in India? If you belong to any foreign country where the project is already in operation, please share your personal experience there and if you belong to any foreign country where google has not so far launched any such project, would you support any such project of google in your country?
