I´m thinking of travelling to Buenos Aires.

I don´t know whether I will be able to travel soon, whether I´ll be able to travel at all, but My friend Debbie here says that I can. So I will start thinking about a nice week to Buenos Aires after I know exactly how my illness will be managed. I´m also writing it here as a way of trying to make it true. I prefer to imagine that the character of this story will get well and everything will have a happy ending. It is kind of corny, as stories go, but as I´m daydreaming about my future, it bettter be like that. Do you proyect your problems and fears as a way to cope with them? How do you do it? Share!

Hi maguicha, like your friend I hope you will be able to travel soon. I also pray for your early recovery. I'm waiting to listen from you about the experience of Buenos Aires and other places. In traveling your rank is 2. I hope it will be enhanced. In our language there is a word like Debbie. We say Devi. That means 'goddess'. I think you will face your problem with courage. Hope for the best.

Hi marguicha, how can I meet your brave friend? It's only possible through correspondence. Enjoy your life.

Hi Marguicha I think you should definitely plan and go. See regardless of illness life is quite short and sometimes we do procrastinate and not do what we want to do in life. I know you like to travel and if you can I say go for it. I am a big procrastinator when it comes to me, not with others as I set goals and plans for other and stick to them. Somehow for me I tend to put me on the back burner and not good my friend life passes by regardless if we want it to or not. Therefore, I have and am learning to slowly but surely begin to project things and aim for them.

Next week I will finally go to the doctor (2 of them in fact as my daughter wants a second opinion) and after that I will know what to do. I will keep you posted. And I´d love to go again to Buenos Aires. It´s a beautiful city and I have a special soft spot for it in my heart as that´s where I went for my honeymoon.

I am glad your daughter wants a second opinion Marguicha. Yes you do not stop until you are fully satisfied with the answers. I would love to hear that you went to Buenos Aires too, and don't forget someday we are going to plan a trip together. You told me to plan and save and I hoping I can do that one day so that I too can drink a Pina Colada in a nice swim suit like you. lol

Placing aside ths d*** lymphoma, going to Aruba or other place at the Caribbean is not as expensive as it sounds. From where you live, there are charter planes and it´s not so expensive. The % star resort costs nexy to nothing with my timeshare and dividing by half. They have kitchen so at least breakfast is like habving it at home, lunch are sandwichs at the beach with something to drink (from water to tequila, whatever your wish) and I only dine out on or two times in the stay because I like to cook. Mostly, the idea of dining out for me is to have the experience of a creole cuisine. The piña coladas are a must. At $7 two of them at happy hour, we can afford them. Do save your money and I´ll save my health.

I'm glad to see you saying something that shows you have hope in the future. Things don't always follow the plot we design, but if you subconscious mind believes something is going to be true, it will do all it can to make it happen. Some people might call that prayer and others just visualization, but whatever you call it, it often works. I hope that you can make at least a couple of short trips during your treatments, but I would definitely check with the doctor first in case of some kind of problem. Good luck with that!!!

Once you talk to the doctor, you may still want to ask about the possibility of a short trip here and there during treatments. It will improve your spirits and you will be able to do something other than looking at the four walls and wonder when it will all end. Yes, the doctor does have the final say, but if you make it know how important being able to travel is for you, he might be able to work it out in such a way that you can take a trip without interfering with your treatments. I didn't need to worry about it during any of mine because I never had anywhere to go, but I'm sure if I had something I wanted to do that they could have worked with me. They might advice staying in areas where good medical care is available or something. I hope you find out good news about this!!!

I know the doctor has the last word. And besides my daughters would never let me do anything too daring. This week I´ll know what to expect, I hope. As for a trip, I have a friend I hdn´t talked to for some time. She called me to see how were my exams. She was very depressed, she lives alone and both of her daughters live in anther country. Sha told me she hadn´t gotten out of bed to wash herself for 10 days. I told her to take a shower and hurry up to my home so we could cuddle each other. I had plenty of food so we talked and ate and she said she hadn´t eaten like that in days out of boredom and despair. She is worried for age. illness and lack of money. Maybe, if I can go to Buenos Aires and she can pay for the airfare, I could invite her as lodgings go. We would have fun together and we would take care of each other. But we´ll see what doctors say first.

Yes marguicha go for it! I was in Buenos Aires twice but never had the opportunity to look around! it is a beautiful place! I guess when I go next time to Uruguay I might stop there for a while and even Chile! you never know. And yes if you project in your problems and fears it makes easier to deal with them...you see I Am not a person that hides...I turn around and face the bull and if necessary I take it by the horns!

It must be frustrating having to wait and not knowing!...about the bull I don't know the story...but I live my life by that motto! I guess is about facing our own fears...if we face our fears we already are in the winning side! and I feel you are facing it good on you dear friend.

This week I will know how big the bull is, dear friend. I only know the title of the story, but need to know the rest. I have been very mad becaus it has taken a lot of time to know everything in spite of my spending a lot of money to do some exams paying for them instead of waiting the regular way.

THe bull has to do with bullfighting and toreros. And metaphorically it means that you have to face your problems. I think it´s a lot better that I´m mad at the health system instead of using my energies to feel sorry for myself. Anyway, tomorrow I´ll know more.

Marguicha, it is better to follow your daughter's advice and go get the second advice. After you had know about the result, then you will have a peace of mind to travel. I hope your wish to travel to Buenos Aires will be plan soon. Since that is a nice and beautiful place to visit. I might want to stop by and give it a visit, when i am able to travel to America in future.

How's your medical appointment? Is it doing fine? Hope they will give you the best and most suitable treatment that needed by you, to nurse you back to healthy and fine. Yes, indeed Buenos Aires is very lively because of the tangos. Can you dance the tango? I loves watching the tango dance....

I have an appointment Wednesday with the dsctor that thenormal health insuranc gives and another on on Thursday with the other doctor. It seems that what has to be done is something every specialist knows. That is, there´s no need to get a genious. But maybe we could get a nicer hospital nearer my house for the chemo, if needed (which seems it will be) and that is also important. I have been to Buenos Aires several times since I went for the first time around 50 years ago. It always amaze me: it is full of life and culture for every taste.

Nice! I hope you will "manage" your illness soon ...but I, myself, don't quite have any problems/fears, except; BIG beasts in the wild (dangerous), free falling down from 200 meters (yes, we use meters here), not being able to enter the university I want, getting my hair cut while I'm sleeping, and dark (I CAN go to dark places, I just really don't like them if I'm alone... ) I'm sure that my list of fears is a lot longer, but those were the things that came to my mind... They have never stopped me from doing anything, though

Thanks for the advice, but I'm not scared of my fears THAT much... I am sorry for your diagnosis, hope you will be able to beat that damn cancer. (The older you are, the better chances you have against cancer)

I hope that you will be able to take your trip and I understand about coping with problems and fears but you just have to face them head on and deal with them the best you can,at least thats what I do.I have been doing it for years and have managed to get over most obstacles that get in my way.I wish you luck and hope that you are okay.Have a great day.

I think that what you are doing is great step towards complete recovery. I do a similar thing. Whenever my thoughts turn to something negative in my life such as a problem that appears hopeless, I visualise the perfect outcome. Things don’t always turn out the way I pictured them but they do work out even better most of the time. Continue to picture yourself well and travelling and it will be so. Good luck.

I have developed neumonia and I am on medication. Everytime I try to put up a brave face and I got worse. SO I told myself I cannot go on like this so I said I got neunomia, please take me to hospital. I am on medication and am slowingly improving. I am just trying to rely this to you to be true to yourself. If you feel sick and cannot travel do not trave and vise versa. I really want you to feel better than you an go enjoy than you can go.

I will do what I can and no more, jak. One of my grandsons is just coming out of a neumonia. They did not have to have them at the hospital but was with antibiotics and has to be Xrayed from time to time as he still has a shadow in one of his lungs. He loks well though, as children do. Take care and try not to have temperature changes.

Go for it! They said to make a dream come true you must affirm it. To do it is to shout it to the world and believe it will materialize. So writing in mylot and telling us you plan to travel is an affirmation. Believe and it shall come true. Plan and then go.

I have been there several times and it is always wonderful. When you tire (your feet, not your wishes) of walking around, there are shops, shows, bookstores, you name it.
