baby is making her appearance two months early..

My cousin is in the hospital, they have stopped her labor a few times over these past months. She has been stitched up, put on bed rest, light work, etc. Baby girl wants to come in the world though. Now my cousin has been admitted and were expecting Minnie sometime this week. My cousin lost her first two and I know Minnie is far enough a long she should be fine, but its still scary. She is due in August. We just moved to CA so Im a 2 day drive away and my daughter is still in school. I feel so helpless. I cant imagine going through this. I have to say though my cousin is upbeat and her faith in God is strong. Has anyone had a premature baby?

Hi there - although I havent had a premature baby myself, I am a medical student and have been involved in caring for many many premature babies in the past. It is always going to be a very scary and risky experience for the parents, but the important thing to remember is often when babies are born premature, they want to come out for a reason - usually there are problems in the uterus or with the placenta that are causing problems for the baby. So it is often better that they are born early in these situations so they can receive the best care possible. At 7 months in, and with the medical technology available today, the baby has a really good chance of doing very well, so try and stay positive and be there for your cousin and her family! This little girl has been trying for awhile. My cusin has a heart shaped uterus and actually was only given a 5% chance of concieving on her own. She lost her first two one was tubal the other because her uterus isnt right. Carrying full term was a slim chance as well. Im glad she made it this far and now were praying for a happy and safe delivery. Thank you for sharing.

It is always a risk when a baby is premature & comes in this world but i pray GOD that everything goes right & your cousin delivers a healthy baby. I remember during pregnancy of my wife aroud 3 years back. She had twins and every time when we used to go to normal scanning doctor used to say one baby is not growing compared to the normal baby's growth and used to say to my wife to eat more calories to make it grow more. I remember when she was in betweem 7~8 months and we went for final scanning doctor told to get the babies out as there can be a danger to the normal baby also we both were scared & became so much helpless as we did not know what to do. We consulted some other doctor she also said the same thing finally we decided to go for what the doctor said.
Finally my wife delivered a boy & a girl both were weak at the time of birth and were kept in the nursery to get them developed under artificial but ideal conditions & today they are very much active and by looking them playing we cannot beleive that we or they undergone such a bad phase.
I feel GOD will do good to your cousin's baby also have faith in GOD.Go happily & support your cousin by means you can do.

All you can do is to be strong for your cousin and have faith that God is always in control. My aunt had a premature baby 23 years ago where technology is not yet that advance. The baby survived and now she's currently working in a public school as a teacher. With our new technology many premature babies are surviving. Have faith God is good always. :)
