I have seen many people live with past memories especially unpleasant experiences ,and refuse to move on in life. I feel that they are making life difficult and unpleasant for not only for themselves but also for others close to them.I, for one am able to move on, no matter what and I feel that the more problems you have in life the tougher you become ...What do you all say friends ? please share your own experiences and views...

Hi, I think it is best to take the life as a journey where you have to face every second as a new experience. If you have bad memories then try to forget them and remember the good one. If you don't have your own good one then learn from the others. This is my philosophy of life. One starts learning from the first day of life and keeps learning so why not to learn the things which are good for us. Try to give the best to the task in the hand and forget everything else. Thanks and have a nice day.

Hi Kiran! I do not believe in living in the past. I have seen that some people cling to past and keep talking about it. It is of no use talking or remembering past because it is not going to come again. I always look ahead, what lied ahead for me in store. I try to live in present not worrying too much about future. I have studied graphology and by seeing a person’s handwriting I can make out whether s/he is clinging to his/her past or not. If I find s/he is attached to his/her past, I advice him/her to detach himself/herself from the past.

Graphology is - study and analysis of handwriting. Graphology helps know about a persons's traits and his mental state of affair and it suggests some remedial measure to change our thinking pattern. You can always count your blessings and can recall happy moments of past. However, always getting lost in past does no good to us.

Ok I got it...In fact I know of someone here in my place who is considered to be an expert on this.It is fascinating the way they can analyse a person's characteristics based on hand writing....I am not sure if that would be 100% correct. We had a funny incident sometime back when one of my friend's had consulted a palmist and he came up with many of her personality traits and the remedial measures where required. She came back and was telling us " I never knew about all these traits in me do any of you know? lol...After a few days she began imagining and even unconsciously began to mould herself o these personality traits mentioned by the palmist.Later when we all pointed this out to her she reaised it - just goes to show what an impact a well times suggestion has on an individuals mind..

Hi deepak,Thanks a lot for your response. By the way what is graphology? I have never come across this term so far..sounds interesting ! I do have some memories of my past which are very fear to me and I cling on to them and draw a lot of strength from it. Most of these memories are of my childhood , school and growing up days which were all wonderful and happy days ...But yes one should have nothing to do with negativity in life, it is sure to make us stagnate in life without going anywhere ..

I think that sometimmes things happen that you just can't get over. Or at least it takes a while for someone to come to terms with what happened. I have tried to teach my daughter that you cazn let things bother you for a while but eventually you just have to let it go. I don't really let things bother me anymore unless it happens in my family. I just don't see the point. My daughter on the other hand still holds grudges and hasn't gotten over a few things that have happened in her life. I guess she still needs some closure.

Hi sizzle, thanks a lot for your responseWhen one is young it is difficult to be philosophical, I guess with age you change your whole outlook towards life and that's what makes it easier for people to let go and move on in life. Your daughter too will learn to do so in time....all the best

hi kiran madam, thanks for the response, what ever we do even little thing raise hand also dictated by the luck and fate only, but we are counting them in that list, and thinking that that is we are doing this and that, with out the permission of god even a pin may not move, this i think you know,so i am leaving everything on god, what ever comming in my mind i am doing, but i am not saying that i am good or bad man,i am middle man with good and bad, have a nice day

Sreedhar since I have no belief in God in your sense of the term - that he is omnipresent and every single thing in this world is attributed to him, I don't think that we can leave everything on god.We have to shape our life and do what needs to be done....It is not fair to expect someone else to take care of things for us...

Hi sreedhar,I disagree with those views. We have to take hold of our lives and change it for the better and not wait for fate or destiny.Afterall we do a lot of other things in our life on our own so why not this as well...what do you say?

People who harbored ill feelings against others for one reason or another refused to move on. This is unhealthy way of living for this is one of the many stressors in life. If we do not forgive and forget the bad thing done to us, it is a heavy yoke that we keep on carrying. Likewise, it is a mental baggage that will just hinder our growth. Sometimes, it is the cause of hypertension, migraine, and other illnesses. So, let's have a forgiving heart and keep on giving love.

Hi visminda, well said ! It is always better to forget and move on. I am not so sure if we can forgive certain deeds, but as long as we forget or put the memories right at the back , life would go on as before ...I agree that it is an unwanted excess baggage we carry which slows down and hinders our life and we need to get rid of it - thanks a lot for your response and all the best

I agree that time heals everything...It is always better to move on instead of carrying the burden of hate or unhappiness with us all through our life..

Hello Kiran. Sometimes it is easy to forgive but hard to forget. It is then better to start that way, for one who was offended could certainly move on slowly. Later on, forgetting follows. It just needs time for the wound to get healed.

Dear friend, I feel life has all kinds of faces that the people have to face, some do have worse part in life. But to face these obstacles and move foreward is something that every human being needs. May be there is something that is somewhere to a part of us in this world. Lets live life fullest facing all those that comes on the way till the end of it.

Hi SHAMRACK, That's very true, we have but one life and there is no point in wasting it away on past issues or unpleasant thoughts. I have seen some people constantly living in the past refusing to move on simply because they feel that they are being ungrateful about the past...thanks a lot for your response and all the best

I have made a lot of mistakes in my life, but I know that there is nothing that I can do about them now, so I just have to make the best of the life I have made for myself and hopefully make it up to those who I have hurt in the past. My mistakes are rather big, and I never meant to hurt people at the time but things took a turn for the worst and it turned out that I did hurt people even though it was never my intention. Some people who I have lied to don't even know that I have lied, and I find that rather heartbreaking.

Hi Gemma, we all make mistakes in life and may make the mistakes again and again. It has happened with me and I am still learning lol...As long as you feel bad and are able to realise your mistakes , there is always scope for change and dont keep feeling guilty.Making amends when you get an opportunity would definitely help, we are all human and we all make many mistakes in life since no one is born perfect...all the best and happy mylotting

It seems not easy to live one's life remembering the bad experience from the past so that it prevents one from valuable, wholesome life. I wish I could say that I am content with my life, and that nothing makes me depressed, but unfortunately there have been some disappointments in my life. I appreciate people who are able to help themselves and others with encouraging words, kind attitude.
