Best Responses on myLot

Hello fellow myLotters,
I know what the "best response" is, and why/how it's given. However, I do not know if getting best responses has any affect on your earnings, user reputation, etc...
Does it?
Do you get extra earnings for receiving the best response, or does it increases your myLot reputation?

Not at all it does not effect your earnings or reputation it just like your response is liked by the discussion starter from all the responses he/she got.
Your reputation is effected by the ratings which other users give else there is no way your reputation get effected.
You won't get any extra earning from BR because i think admin & the user have different minds as may be admin don't find it a quality response for which user has given you BR or vice versa.

Well that said, I guess it's just for pure token of appreciation for your response. Maybe they should add something in there like a best response equals 2 or 3 positive ratings. What do you think? So at the moment, I think the best thing being rated as the best response in a topic discussion is that you get to have that rewarding feeling that your opinion was heard and appreciated. It can bring good mood to continue responding to myLot and thus may indirectly affect earnings. Just trying to play around the question to get an answer.

It does nothing to affect our earnings or ratings or anything else.
All it does is give us Boasting Rights

Actually, i think those best response marks has no effect on our earnings. But nonetheless, i get so happy, whenever i get one and boasting aside, i'm proud to say i have been getting them again lately. 
I am happy that some people likes my responses. I guess, my experiences in life contributes to it.

Hi Angelee!
It doesn't have any effect on our earnings or rating but what it gives for me is quite more than that. It's because the appreciation and the value that it gets gives some sense of motivation and excitement to further give more quality responses, and when we give more quality responses then that adds up to our earnings plus we'll get a higher chance to be rated positively. I guess the effect is more on psychological. I don't know what it is for other but that is what it is for me.

hi Angelee, thanks for asking I was wondering the same thing. Perhaps you know what the + and - besides the answer mean? Rate positive/negative? do they mean the answer was usefull or not?

We are told in the Guidelines to rate other users' posts and there in the FAQs you will see how we are supposed to rate.
The star is then the result of how many plus ratings ouir posts receive and it affects our earnings, Users with a higher star will earn more for their activity than users with a lower one.

If discussion starter has start a discussion after the some he/she has got some best response. this is bonus for his/her. He/she feel real happiness in their life and he/she has express the many ideas from he/she discussion.I t is no matter the best response is not effect on your earning.It is only thing do for a person it increase the person well known and person has got the more response from he/she next discussions.

getting a 'best response' doesn't affect one's earnings. it just shows that the thread starter thinks your response gives the most definite answer to his/her question or it is the one that makes most sense. lol!
when i was starting out here in mylot, i always wanted to get a 'best response'. been here a couple of years already and although it isn't the first thing i check, i still feel very happy when i get a 'best response'.
ms. d puts it well when she said it is for 'bragging rights'!

Best response is a "bonus" for respondents.
When I was a newbie here,I admit I feel like a small kid that receives my favorite chocolates each time I receive a best response (hehehe)

Interesting! I do not have any idea! Can anyone share us you theory in this matter? On the other hand, is there such thing as best discussion or best topic (I guess that would be the hot discussion, right?) and is it also given more earnings? :)

About best responses and earnings, I think both are conflicting issues. Earnings are minute reward. If each response is because of the earnings, such response will or could be really lacking in value
