I suppose to have 2 examinations today but I took only one in the end. Not because I overslept, but because I did not check the timing and take if for granted that it will be the same timing as usual. I thought it was at 12pm when the exam is suppose to be at 10am. My friend only called me after the exam and at that time, i was heading towards school. This is the first time I have miss an examination and I really hated that feeling. I started panicking and kept asking my friends what to do and was worried that I wouldn't be allow a make-up exam. Lucky for me, my professor agreed to give me a make up, but it would be a 5 essay questions, rather than MCQ, which means I have to memorize and memorize tonight. Have you experience it before? What would you do?

I have experienced the same situation. I was so angry at myself when I discovered what had happened. I had many exams and I had written them all down in my calender, but I had made a mistake. One of my oral exams I had written in the wrong week. I thought I had the day off, but all of sudden I got a phonecall from my teacher and he said: "Where are you? We have been waiting for you, but you didn't show up" I got a shock, I was sure that the exam was going to take place one week later I asked my teacher if I would be able to take the exam another day and he told me that I would be able to take it that day when the last student had finished. I didn't have time to study I just went straight to the school. I didn't get a very good grade, but at least I was able to take the exam. Since that time I have learned to double-check every date!!

You are lucky that your professor is allowing you to make it up. Some do not allow you to. I know when my husband's mother had been ill I had to postpone finals and I was lucky that my instructors allowed me to take them. One instructor told me I did not have to take it because I had an A going into the final and that the final would not change my grade. In the future I would write everything down.

Yes, when i am still in school but now that I am working, I see to it that I deal with all of my appointment's as working life is very much different from a student's life. Take this experience as another lessons in life and learn from it and you will be rewarded with a big check in life if you do!
