Wedding Gift, one or two gifts?

I'm the maid of honor for my friend and we held a bridal shower with no theme. The guests pretty much bought things off the couple's wedding registries. Should people be expected to give money or another gift also? And should I be expected to give them money also? I don't have that much money and I can't really afford to give her any. On top of it I'm switching jobs and I'll be making less money. I already gave her a $200 gift along with other gifts and various things she needed for the wedding. What is your experience on this matter?

Well i'm no expert but I think if you already gave a gift to them off their registry, I don't think you have to give them another gift or money. If you didn't get them nothig then money is ok. Most married people I know would have rather gotten money as a gift instead of items.
