Vacation destinations

I live in North Carolina and my family and I are going on vacation at the end of August. We're going to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We haven't been to the beach in a few years, so it's a big deal this year. I love North Carolina's coastline and a lot has been added since we've last been there. As someone who's lived near coastline her whole life, I've always been to the beach over the summer. I was curious about vacation destinations for other parts of the country. Where do you spend vacations and what sights do you enjoy seeing with your family?

A lot of people who live here in Oklahoma go to lakes. There are a lot of lakes around where people go out in boats, water ski, just like they would do in the ocean I guess. Lakes aren't really for me. I love the ocean. I've been to the beach several times, both the Atlantic and the Pacific. I haven't been in a while. It would be nice to go back.

I like going to places I haven't been before. So this year, I plan to go to Greece and to Malta, both countries I haven't visited up until now, but have heard very nice things about.
