Yesterday was the grand opening of our Carinderia(Mini Restaurant) Business. We have one competitors until we've found out that this Carinderia is the only one who survive before despite of so many competitors on their sides. Then, We asked one of the customer, How they survive it? The customer answered, "They survive because of so very cheap price they give to their customers." Obviously, I am going to lower down the prices of my foods to have the same prize to my competitors or worst lowered it more, I realize that It is really hard to compete that the price was very cheap that you couldn't even get your investment. How we will earn or profit if this carinderia will only give a very cheap prices? Have you ever had a business like this? Competing to lowered prices. So hard to earn money in business. T_T have you ever experience this? what did you do to have success? to win business? I need your opinion about this.

You don't need to lower the price. All you need to do is put same price and make sure that your food tastes better than the other one. Customers will never look at the price difference then, but the taste and the preparations. In my opinion,I don't mind if the price is a bit higher as long as I am satisfied with the taste of it.

I just don't like listen and believe everything I heard about a competitor. I just try to find out my self about the truth before I make decision. If you want to survive, focus on quality. If your food quality is better and just a little bit higher than the other, then you will stand out. People will patronage cheap at first but in the end will go to quality as they will learn the basic thing that you save or gain more with a quality merchandise.

Having spent twenty years in the restaurant business, ten as a manager, and more running other businesses, I feel your pain. Heck, in my current profession, I occasionally get told that XYZ are willing to do the job for less (currently, I am a freelance writer and photographer). My response tends to be "Go for it. If they are willing to do the job cheaper, and you don't care about the quality, then give them your money. But just remember if you do not like their work, and want a better product, you are going to get charged more." A lot of people do not like to hear that, but I refuse to write articles for mere pennies just because someone else with less skill is willing to do so.

I think it is a difficult situation for you. The best thing for you to do is put the price to a level where you can at least get your investment back. It is not wise to bear the loss. Don't worry about the customers because if the God is with you then you will have a good business. Hope for the best and good luck to you.

Hi rhejans! From my view of points, firstly of course the cheaper price will attract me but if the restaurant's service is poor, I would rather go for a better customer service one even if the price is a bit higher. Another important point is the taste of the foods; I would rather prefer foods that taste better. Good luck!
