16 is a pretty perfect age to start approaching girls. But if youre not ready to, you shouldnt be forced into it. Just be yourself :+

I think you should approach girls whenever you feel like approaching girls, there's not a certain age when it's ok.Just make sure you are confident and I don't think you need books to try to attract a girl just go with what feels right,if you are crushing on a specific girl try to strike up a conversation with her about something that interest her.Good luck!

16 years old is a normal age to start. But one thing I want to ask is, why do you want to approach girls? Whats in my mind is that approaching girls means making girlfriend, starts learning to love somebody, to take care of the girl you love and learn to tolerate with her. If you can't think of any reason or say you are simply curious and "want" to approach girl, then I should say I am not sure whether you are mature enough to do so. You really have to think thoroughly before you actually take any action (because I dont want you to hurt anyone if you are not serious enough). Sorry to be that direct.

Approach them whenever you feel ready. 16 sounds OK to me. But if you don't feel ready, then don't do this and just wait.
