Recently got my wisdom teeth out

So a couple of days ago I got my wisdom teeth taken out because they were all pushing against my last set of grinders. Going into the operation, I was very nervous because I was thinking how much it would hurt to get all 4 removed. However during the operation, I felt nothing and the surgery was quick and painless. The only thing that is bothering me right now is that my mouth is still a little numb where they injected the needle (got a nasty bite mark by accident while eating food). Has anyone here removed their wisdom teeth and how long did you take to start eating solid food again?

My wisdom is just starting to get out. I have a question if you don't mind and here it goes: Is it necessary to remove our wisdom tooth? And honestly, the one after the wisdom (used for cutting/biting solid foods) is already decayed and pulled so I am really using my wisdom tooth on grinding foods in my mouth. Is it really necessary? Thanks!

It's not necessary to remove your wisdom teeth, however most people get it out because of the lack of spacing in their mouth which causes the teeth to grow out not straight but at different angles. That was my problem, they were pushing against the other teeth and coming out in a slant.

My wisdom teeth is also already coming out but due to financial problems, we are not able to have it removed. :( I'm in the same case as yours, my wisdom teeth are pushing my other teeth and in a slant position. I am so afraid that it may be too late to have it removed so there might be more complicated operations. That's scary.

It took me a week or so before I could eat solid food after having my wisdom teeth out.I am glad that you did not feel anything during the surgery.I wish you well and have a great day.

Nope I haven't removed my wisdom teeth but I used to be a regular at the dentist as a kid. I really hated it and it scared the crap out of me There were times I would cry and begged my parents to not take me to the dental clinic. It was scary and painful. Anyway I have heard a lot of people taking their wisdom teeth out. But why do they do that?? Do i have to take mine out too?? Mine are on their way, I mean well atlest one of it is

It took me about 3 or 4 days to start eating solid food after I got my wisdom teeth out. You're lucky that your operation went so well - I just remember my mouth being horribly horribly swollen for ages after the operation and my jaw was really really sore! Good luck with your recovery..
