I have been drinking vitamin supplements since i gave birth to our only child. It has kept me strong and has fortified my immune system. Every morning after breakfast , I take 1000 mg of ascorbic acid, 1000 mg. of calcium ,and 800 IU of vitamin E . I can say, that i rarely get sick and catch a cold. I noticed that when i haven't taken ascorbic acid for more than 2 days, my gums would weaken and i would get gum sores. Hence, i make it a point, that i take them religiously.

Oh really simplyd! Have you checked with your Doctor about the amount of Vitamins you are taking? 1000mg of Ascorbic acid looked to be too much, i guess, it might damage your mucosal wall because that is too much acidic. Well anyway, Vit C is a water soluble vitamins that will be flushed our with water if you are taking it in big amounts, but its a waste to take in more what our body will need. And your Calcium too, looked a lot Too much calcium that is not required in your body might be a cause of renal calculi, it will only stay in your kidneys when not in use. And I hope you go out early in the morning to get some Vit D from the sun because Calcium intake is useless if taken without Vit D. I hope you consider my suggestions...Thanks and have a nice day!

When i had my total abdominal histerectomy , many years ago, my OBgyne , prescribed to me those vitamins supplements. She said that because at my young age that i was made to have a forced menopause, because of the removal of my reproductive organs , i have to have some supplements that could help me with my immune system. In addition, the alternative doctor of my father who had a cancer before , told us that as long as you you don't feel any diarrhea in taking high doses of vitamin C it means your stomach can take it. With that, i have to take that much only, because it would make me spend more if i increase my intake of it. I feel very healthy for the past years. I am on my prime years now, yet i feel so alive and healthy. Friends keep telling me, i am way younger than my age.

Oh I didn't know you underwent a major surgery before. Well, as your Doctor told you, I think you have to follow his advice. So, did you gave birth to a child before the hysterectomy? Good to hear from you that you feel healthy, keep it up.

I take vitamin supplements. I consume one capsule of supplement per day. I have read an article before that there really is no disadvantage of consuming such vitamin supplements. Just don't overdose yourself of it. It says there that taking supplements is a good way of helping out our body without the risks of toxicities and side effects.

It is of course good to take supplements. There are many different kinds available, such as fruits, milk products, vitamins, etc. I have been taking one kind of food supplement regularly every evening, and that is Ensure. It comes in a little bottles. There is another brand called Boost. That is also very good.

Supplements are there to help if your body does not meet the daily requirements of vitamins you need. Even if we eat fruits and veggies everyday, we still do need supplements. For example calcium supplements, even if you drink a gallon of milk, it won't be the basis that your body can absorb the calcium nutrient in it since we are not cows. Anyway what I am trying to say is that there are food supplements that our body can easily absorb with no side effects also. But I only trust Tiens products when it comes to supplements. We do take Cordyceps Sinensis, Spirulina and Calcium drink from Tiens. This is recommended by our physician so I don't say you take the same unless your family doctor suggests it too. All of us have different needs. What my body needs is not the same with yours so better take supplements under the supervision of your doctor and don't self medicate, that is the rule of thumb.

I used to eat all kinds of pills. Viamins and minerals for this or that. That, until I went to see my sister who is a scintist and she showed me sciwentific literature on how that was just throwing money away. If you eat well, you can have all your body needs. It seems that our body needs time to get the elements present in fod. During digestion, it takes this and that as needed. If you take pills, the body does not have time to process them.

What do you mean is food supplement? like Vitamins? Actually, all we need in our body are found in foods we eat. But if you think you didn't get the right amount of that vitamin or mineral, or substance that is needed daily, then you can take a supplement in order not to be deficient with that certain substance your body needs. We always have to bear in mind that our body needs a right amount, a balance in our intakes. It is not good to have more in one substance and less in the other one. Have a nice day and be healthy!
