Is apple safe?

It seems that the relatively recent android operating system is on fire in the mobile market. Android already started taking over nokia's market shares, would apple be affected?
Also, would the half billion dollars payment of apple to nokia affect apple's financial status?

maybe apple would be affected by android but maybe not because apple have a hardcore fanbase. Since i don't have apple shares or nokia shares, for me it doesn't matter much weather apple is affected by android or not...
