Happy

What it must be to be happy. I think this might have been more appropriate in the enjoy life section. I is easier to do enjoyable things that to feel truely happy as we may well have underlying depression while plesant things offer a distraction to this. I feel that I have had long periods of not being happy and not feeling that I am allowed to but overall I have been very fortunate and have a lot to be thankful for. I hope that I have not come off as doom and gloom but I also know that I do not know what life will bring in the future.

. Practice mindfulness. Be in the moment. 2. Laugh out loud. Just anticipating a happy, funny event can raise levels of endorphins and other pleasure-inducing hormones and lower production of stress hormones. 3. Go to sleep. 4. Hum along. Music soothes more than the savage beast. 5. Declutter. 6. Just say no. Eliminate activities that aren’t necessary and that you don’t enjoy. 7. Make a list. There’s nothing like writing down your tasks to help you organize your thoughts and calm your anxiety. 8. Do one thing at a time. 9. Garden. Not only will the fresh air and exercise provide their own stress reduction and feeling of well-being, but the sense of accomplishment. 10. Tune out the news. take a vacation from the misery we’re exposed to every day via the media and use that time for a walk, a meditation session, or to write in your journal.

I think one has to be content with whatever he/she has in order to be happy. If people wish/want to have things they don't or never will, that'll just get them sad and depressed. So one way to be happy is be content with what they have. And I guess being with the family and the people you love will automatically make one happy. But yeah there are many ways and people's mind differ from one another too

Being happy is a state of mind. If you choose to be happy then good for you. But if you choose to be lonely then it is your prerogative. As you've said you have a lot to be thankful for. So concentrate on those things and don't dwell on the things that you don't have. It's easier said than done but that's the way life goes. Either you stay in one corner and sulk or go out and enjoy life. We live only once so make the most out of it.

I would like to sympathize and empathize with you in your situation. For me, your life is not that pathetic as what you would like to project. Continue doing things that you enjoy, those things that give you satisfaction. True happiness is elusive. We must live life to the best we can, without hurting other people, instead help those who are in need, those who are also struggling because of their own pains and sufferings. I bet, this is one best way to get out from the doldrums and anxieties in life. And take this one last piece of advice, take all your problems to God by earnest prayer, ask Him to help you. Is it not you said you have a lot to be thankful after all what happened to your life. Then, thank Him again. I'm sure you'll begin to realize that life is worth living after all.
