Wahahaha.. I noticed that my favorite dog breed isn't discussed very often in this topic. I want to start. I LOVE CHOWCHOWS they are cute and fluffy and make a great pillow. They are very loyal and takes care of human babies. They love to play and dance and can be easily trained. They stinky necks because of their drool too. Haha. But who doesn't like these bear/lion like doggies running around in your dining area.. =)

I don't think that Chows are as popular here in the States as it is in some of the other countries. Didn't it originate in China? The look like little bears with black tongues. There was a Chow that belonged to our next door neighbor when my brother and I were kids. My brother was walking between the houses one day and the dog bit him. He was scared of dogs ever since that incident even into his adulthood. That was way before the leash, fence laws so there were dogs all over the neighborhood back then. I've not had any experience with Chows other than that. But I love all dogs so I'm sure I could get along with one. Wouldn't want him drooling on the carpet though. I would let him live in the house during the hot weather like this. They've got so much hair that they have trouble in the extremely hot temps.

yeah they did originate in china. I saw many interesting videos involving chows with Americans. And about the dog that bit your little brother, I think the owner of that chow didn't train his/her dog very well. I encountered one chow that didn't belong to me once nor do I know whose is it. But when I played with it, He was very playful. Ever since that day, I loved chowchows not that I dont like dogs, it's just that I loved them even more. =)
