I was born into the world at the time when black and white tv don't exist anymore and colored tv was gaining popularity. But my Aunt who lives next door in the early 80s still kept their old black and white tv and still using it. My favorite shows then were Tom & Jerry, Scooby Doo, The Smurfs, and many more. There were a lot actually since I'm the youngest in the family and my older siblings were going to school so i just stayed at home watching tv all day.

And you have missed something more .. but thi is really good for you you missed: to have a tv set in your house but the television program broadcating to be just 2-3 hours a day .. 4-6 on saturdays and 8-10 sundays ... That was the TV broadcasting program in my country in latest years of communism ...

We had some local children's programming that I got to watch. Also the shows like Circus Boy, Sky King and Captain Kangaroo were really good. I also enjoyed Saturday Cartoons, and we must not forget Tarzan.

i can only recall, if my memory leads me right, the fight between Muhammad Ali and Freize? or Holmes? being televised from the Araneta Coliseum in the 70's.

Yeah, Casius Clay as real (birth) name, Muhammad Ali had several fights in that times but his traditional challengers were Frazier and Foreman. Stil we were here under communism, we had those games on TV (well, in the 70s we have had the best times .. almost freedom ...). In about same time there wa another great boxer, but which never step forward to proffesionists: Teofilo Stevenson.

When I was born, colored tv is already in the market. But I've seen black and white tv's. I saw it in my grand father's house. It was really big and really old. Hehehe.. And it's not cable ready. I can't imagine having that kind of tv. lol.

It's simple: close all pages and sites on your pc, insert a CD/DVD with a movie, no matter which (prefferable an old B/W one, such as Cassablanca for instance, or old western movies with John Wayne), make your monitor be black & white (use the color button) and there you are. Or, find a fotball match with teams equipments colored green vs red or red vs blue ...
