Hello there, I only wish I thought about it when the first PC was brought here so that it can be prepared for some reason. now that the plan is in place, Internet connection is in place because our router is working with the renters modem which was place here. but unfortunately, the problem is the PC is got screwed, it kept hearing this beep beep and more beep non stop. not until i saw this link article. http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbysymptom/ht/nothingonscreen.htm It's either the Cmos Battery or the Power supply. the power supply is so old because it has 110 and 230v adjustment. I may have put it into lower voltage and plugs in to the 220 outlet. but it can possible that it's the cmos battery.. it runs also in Linux, Ubuntu

Sweetie. tell me first. What os does she use and what are the motherboard she is using? Any article is helpful, but once the motherboard, power supply and cpu give trouble, you have to actually buy a new pc. You have to keep up with technology.

Hello Saphrina, The Operating System that she's using is Linux Ubuntu as well.then, she's also using a Pentium 4 old motherboard. If the problem is not in the Cmos or powersupply, then there's going to be problem in my hands. I would feel sad because i won't have an opportunity to fix my moms computer. because the cheapest CPU is 100$ and we don't know how can it be fix.

Hi.Lk. CPU costing $100/- may not suffice. Once you are changing processor you must get compatible mother board. As you mentioned in your opener check on the SMPS that is the power system. You could have already blown it up. Depending on the beeping pattern the problem can be understood. Since you sited the website of pcsupport you must have come to know the troubleshooting process. I can see you are have handful of problems with your computers, router, modems, internet and so on. But we all learn only when we tackle the problems first hand.

So, you have power then, sweetie. Unplug the machine, wait 5 minutes and take out the memory. Add one memory closest to the cpu, make sure you clipped in the memory and start up the pc. It should post, but if you still have that beep sound, unplug the machine again, take out the memory, swop it with another if you have any and do this all over again. Sounds like memory if it keeps on beeping. If you have another ddr400 memory lying around, use it. be very careful of the direction you add that memory, you can break it. Don't push to hard n it or you'll break the mother board. Hope you didn't play with the plug from 110 to 220. Hope you stayed with 220. Let me know what happened.

Hello Louievill, damn! Now my life is complicated in terms of repairing this, you know I just removed the Cmos Bios because I thought that was the problem. but now it seems that I was wrong and the Bios isn't the problem at all.If I replace the Cmos battery and still has the same beep then, am screwed

Cmos Bios! I am unable to understand what your are meaning. You must be meaning the Cmos battery. Make sure you replace the battery hastily without the system losing the internal memory. You can also try restarting the PC without the RAM card/s. The beeps have some meaning. Go by their guidance. All the best.

At this point it would be cheeper to replace the computer itself. Chances are if it's the mother board and power suply... then it can't be repaired. How old is the computer anyway? That could be part of the problem right there. The older the unit the harder it is to repair. Not saying this problem is impossible to fix, but replacing the parts may not be very cost effective, and you could end up doing more irreversable damage.

Hello Kaylachan, The Monitor is fine though, but I got a bad feeling that I would be needing to buy another CPU. the only part that is here now is the CPU, mouse and the monitor. I don't know why it stopped working but we only hope that it would work again since my brother will be here.if that is the case, I might as well save money for months for me to buy another CPU which is highly logical.

Hello Bhaby Catch, My brother will be paying a visit here and it's a good thing because i will have a chance to have him check the Computer and see what's wrong with it. yeah, louie sends me the link and it really got me confused there. if it's unrepairable then it's safely assumed that it's over and I have to buy a newCpu. it's using Linux OS and an old Pentium 4 have a nice day too.
