The "Keep-Away-Smoke Campaign"

Just today, while I was browsing my Facebook page, a few friends had this on their status: " Smokers,Please get a plastic bag and cover yourself whenever you want to start smoking to enable you to enjoy the smoke 100% by yourself. I don't want any percentage of it nor do my friends who don't smoke. Don't kill me if you want to kill yourself.Regards,Your Friend :)P.S.:Copy and paste this message to your profile to support the Keep-Smoke-Away Campaign " I may not know if this could help non-smokers who are so concerned about their health in any way. I am not sure if this would help at all. But upon reading what the status said, the truth is, even non-smokers like me get sick, twice as much as what smokers can actually develop. I am very health conscious and I try to avoid things that harm my health and the health of my family. Unfortunately, my brother is a smoker and I always reprimand him about it. And every time he wants to have a smoke anywhere near us, I always ask him to go outside or somewhere far enough where no one at home can smell its smoke. At work, my boss has the habit of smoking near a window and since our office is pretty small and our location is a little windy, the smoke he exhales comes right back inside the office and I totally detest it especially during those times when I had cough, sore throat and colds. I was so irritated but I couldn't do a thing except cover my nose. I don't have anything against people who smoke. It's their habit. It's just that I just want to ask other smokers to be more sensitive and conscious of their own health and those around them. Thoughts are welcome.!

Just like you, I am health conscious.. But I don't have the guts to tell the smokers around me to keep distance when they smoke. I don't know why, but am too shy to speak! :/ It is me who keep away when someone smokes near me! Well, am glad my Dad quit smoking way way back! I can see in him before that it is really hard to quit it, but I'm glad he did for me, for us, for his family and also for himself! :)

That's good for your dad. Well, I don't have the guts to tell someone to stay away from me when they smoke. I just tell that to my brother, 'cause he's my brother. I try to stay away or at least get some fresh air when others do smoke. It must have been hard on your dad. My dad stopped smoking when he had a family but he told us that when he was younger and single, he was a chain smoker. I guess if someone has the will aand enough care for the welfare of their own family, they can quit smoking even though how difficult it really is.

i am not that health conscious, but it indeed is very annoying to be standing next to a smoker. sad to say, most smokers do not even have the slightest hint of courtesy. worse of it is that if you point this one out to them, they would be the one who would feel offended. it's too hard to be in an environment where smoking is a norm. i wish there is some way i could implement YOUR idea of giving them plastic bags and suffocate themselves with their own smoke . there is a policy in our country, though. it bans smoking in public place, e.g. malls, transport vehicles and terminals. unfortunately, it's just that - policy. it is never implemented.
