Do you take people for their word on the Internet.

The Internet can be a place where pretty much everyone can state anything. And while some of it is true, you just got to wonder a lot of the times. Then again, with all of the things in the world, there are going to be a lot of times where even if something sound suspect, it might be true, but at least mostly true. Then again, I've come to realize that its the Internet and people are prone to slight exaggerations in real life, so obviously that is going to be true. So yeah I don't get as offended when someone is lying over the Internet as I might when someone is in real life. But that might just be me.

It depends if I have been corresponding with them for a while and it also depends on what they are talking about.

A pretty good point. When you don't really know a person for all that long, its not likely a good idea to trust them at their word until you really get to know them. Granted they could be in fact telling the truth. Also some people might tend to be embellish somewhat on some topics as they would. There are people out there who's opinions that I would trust for one thing, but really another, no way. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.

As in real life, I'm very guarded when it comes to people and what they say. I don't believe someone right away (unless it's someone I know), and I look into things before investing my time and effort. I don't like making it look like people are liers, but you can't ever to sure when it comes to how people are going to act sometimes. They may not always be lying, but you can't always tell based on words on a screen. Unless you know the person, it can be hard to tell what they're thinking at that moment so I've always been a bit guarded when it comes to that sort of thing.

That tends to really be the problem a lot of the time. We never really truly are completely secure with the intentions of people. Especially when you cannot see them face to face. Even if you do know the person, we never really know as much as I would have liked. There are a lot of people who tend to tell while not lies, slight distortions of the truth. We would like to trust people for the most part, but there are a lot of times where people abuse that trust. Thanks for responding. Its appreciated. Have a nice day.
